I have to say, Himiway and several of the other not so known branded e-bikes have certainly upped their game with the specs on these e-bikes over the past year or so, which can be a good thing as they seem to offer quality branded components and specifications for lower prices. Even seeing a hybrid stepthru with rear suspension is very rare these days, so hats off to Himiway for having this feature on this model. I've had an e-bike with the Schwalbe Super Moto-X tyres, these are known as balloon tyres which are great at cushioning the ride to make the journey super smooth.

I think some enthusiasts overstate the pace of e-bike improvement - comparing it to computers... however, there is no doubt that over the past 15 or so years, steady progress has been made, and you can now get some pretty nice bikes around $1,500-$2,000 and some very nice bikes for $2,300-$3,000. Appreciate the guys at Electric Bike Report for their clear, no-nonsense testing approach

Love my A7. Took me a while to get used to shifting more again, but, after a couple of months, I am starting to get more range and speed. Might switch out the tires to get something with a little more grip to be able to do some light off-roading (being full suspension and all). This bike is a VERY comfortable ride.

This bike definitely has some off-road potential with a great suspension. Good thinking!

@@ElectricBikeReport I see in the review that you were able to exceed the posted range. I've been getting more like 40 miles per charge. I'd love to, if possible, almost be coached on how to get the most out of it. For the most part, I stay in PAS 1 & only go to PAS 2 occassionally on a steep hill. When on a flat or going downhill, I'll turn it to PAS 0 (so, no assist). Would I be better off putting it in PAS 1 or 2 & just leaving it there as opposed to changing the PAS depending on conditions? Really curious how you were able to get more than suggested range. TIA.

Throttle on a mid-drive !!!! wonderful (for my old knees )
@scottrichards35876 ай бұрын
I'm 66. Been riding a class 1 Gazelle NL for 2 years, 1400 miles. Throttle would be too easy, resulting in less exersize.
@adarkstarz6 ай бұрын
@@scottrichards3587 I am way older, one knee cannot be used for power, only can use the other leg to push down. So from a stop a throttle would be great. I have a Ride1up mid-drive but is hard to use now.
@tonygiancoli96264 ай бұрын
@@scottrichards3587 I don't use the throttle, but it is nice to have 1. If you get injured and need that ability 2. Had a low-blood sugar event where my balance was thrown off. It was nice to be able to throttle home when in emergency mode.

Seems like an amazing all around bike. Wish it was a little lighter, but still really good range, speed, mid-drive and features.

Thumb throttle and 500 watts motor should be given to uk as option I really want the American version and honestly don’t mind paying more money it’s utterly not fair himiway should do something about it for uk 🇬🇧

I think yall should redo this test with the bike unlocked
@tonygiancoli96266 ай бұрын
I had my LBS unlock the bike, and it flies! I rarely go past PAS 1 on it, but, when I do, it takes off like a rocket (with me pedaling, of course). I kind of tested it again last night, and, whew, it flew!

@@tonygiancoli9626 How fast does it go unlocked?
@badabing88846 ай бұрын
For a £2.5k ebike that is a bargain for a mid drive. I paid £4K for my Gazelle U380 HMB. But it has a belt drive and CVT Enviolo hub. There are a lot of trade offs when it comes to e-bikes. You pay for what you get. It really depends how you want to use it for as well.
@tonygiancoli96266 ай бұрын
I almost bought the Evelo Omega, which, like the Gazelle, has the Gates belt drive and the CVT Enviolo hub, but it had ZERO suspension. The full suspension on the A7 Pro is soooo nice.

Can I ride it in the rain?
@noonster556 ай бұрын
I have been waiting for you to test this bike. A bit disappointed that you didn’t include a speed and range test in the unlocked mode. I believe most people in the US will definitely want to unlock it. I find that most e-bikes that limit you to 20 mph are a bit less fun to commute on because 20 mph is just right where I ride at and I am fighting the limiter the whole time. So I have to purposely slow down to 18 or 19 mph.

Ananda is actually a huge manufacturer of e-bike motors. We've been seeing their motors more and more frequently on bikes of all styles. Elektrek did a great video on their factory and manufacturing process: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJXZiHmEYt-DY6Mfeature=shared
