Later upload than usual. Been waiting for my start of the week doody review lol. I personally feel like they are different enough to warrant having both in the collection. I have an almost identical xm18 as you. Full working finish with working finish textured ti scale from Hinderer. Mine was the spanto in s45 but I had thrown a full black hardware kit on it, zirc lbs, zirc studs from Justin David, lynch milled clip and ran it on skiffs. I also have a full ti 3v 20.5. Waiting to snatch up a ad20 in g10 and swap ti scales onto. Eventually going to add an eklipse and matching xm18 3” also.

Nice! Sounds like a badass Xm18. Id like an Eklipse too sometime

I have one Hinderer. Xm18 slim. I really like it. I have 4 demkos, and really like them too. Id have to get an ad20 to give a fair comparison, I'm sure. Id have to go Hinderer until then
@doodysdaggers16 сағат бұрын
I’d love a Slim someday!

Great comparison dooood! I have an AD20 in for review right now and was thinking of doing the same one!

I want both

Love both, but I would go with hinderer. love the xm18 3.5 as a large edc sized knife. but this is just me comparing it to an ad20s in g10. Maybe i would feel different if i could get my hands on a ti one. love what you mentioned how that flipper tab on the xm18 hooks and works to keep your hand from sliding up. idk how people could prefer the non flipper lol
@doodysdaggers16 сағат бұрын
Yeah same! I actually prefer the flipper as well

Magnets make the demko phenomenal.

Surprised by how many folks would prefer the hinderer. I have a bunch of AD20’s and the 20S is super slicey, definitely a Demko vote here.

I choose the large Sebenza 😁 Plenty capable for hard use, way sexier and easier to maintain ✌🏻

I have an AD20I in 20CV and XM-18 3.5 LH Non Flipper Bowie and if I had to choose between the two I would take the Demko everytime.
@mstuehler21 сағат бұрын
I've got the same Demko, and love it, and was just looking at that exact same Hinderer, so I appreciate this comparison. What makes you prefer the Demko? And, even though you prefer the Demko, would you still recommend the Hinderer?
@barboki20 сағат бұрын
@@mstuehler While I love a Bowie, I do not like it being non flipper. I would not have bought it if it was not left handed. It is so hard to get a left handed Hinderer I did get it. I like flippers. I just love the Shark lock. Plus having both opening hole and thumb studs gives it more than Hinderer. I like both knives but if I have to choose one I would pick the Demko. But that is just me.

I prefer the Eklipse harpoon spanto but hate that flipper. Honestly though, I’d rather use a Koenig Arius than both of those.

Every time I look at hinderers I can never decide which blade shape I like more

That are all thick behind the edge and terrible slicers.

Do the skiffs make a big difference?

Not huge

Always wanted a hinderer until got ZT0562 (hinderer design) and added a finger choil. Action is great, and much more affordable
@doodysdaggers16 сағат бұрын
Only reason I don’t like the ZT is you can’t use the external stops as thumbstuds

I have the Hinderer XM-18 3.5 and have had opportunities to buy the AD20 and still haven't bought? 🤦🏻♂️ Yesss, I need a Demko AD20 😂

Great video! Personally I just think Demkos look lame. Just me. I've had a ton of hinderers and my favorite is definitely the Project x. It's $75 more, but it has a slicier blade, textured lockside, a disassembly tool, and the best action of any Hinderer.
@doodysdaggers12 сағат бұрын
I’d love a project x one of these days
@jpolhamus717 сағат бұрын
Definitely AD-20
@SolosKnifeReviews20 сағат бұрын
Great take, the stabilizing part of Hinderer’s disk is if you squeeze on the knife handle hard the lockbar its self should not move up and down on the lockface. I’m not sure how much that matters but in theory it’s cool.
@doodysdaggers20 сағат бұрын
Hmm, okay I guess that makes sense. Can’t hurt, right?
@CNYKnifeNut20 сағат бұрын
...that's the theory, but It's not actually functional in that way, though. There's too much clearance between the disc and cutout. It's purely cosmetic now, since there's an over travel stop built into the steel insert.
@SolosKnifeReviews19 сағат бұрын
@@CNYKnifeNutmarketing and signature look. The steel removable lock insert could and possibly does have an extension on it for the over travel. I’m sure the Hinderer Herd would be mad if they couldn’t add trinkets and doo dads to their Hinderers 😂 So the disk will forever be there needed or not

@doodysdaggers Spyderco Manix 2 is one of my favorite knives. Also, like the Benchmade 940 Osborne. I own both of these knives in S30V steel. My Manix 2XL is in CRUWEAR.

Hinderers are mostly overhyped pocket jewelry. So thick behind the edge, horrible slicers. Just an awful EDC.
