I've just come out of hospital after a fairly long stay and I landed on your channel seemingly by accident now suddenly everything feels better. I love the peace, tranquillity & calmness that flow from your productions. Thank you. As for the competitive he men who like go out in arctic temperatures dressed only in a velvet willy warmer I can only offer some timely advice. Don't, it'll drop off or worse, snap off in an inappropriate position. Why do people feel the need to mock others in these situations? It doesn't make any sense to me. If you feel cold in 10 degrees C then you feel cold. It doesn't make you a lesser human being and the reverse clearly holds true.

I just love this Vlog, I've watched it so many times. Everything about it just 'works' - the closeness you guys show to each other, the fantastic start with Munchy doing his trick, the whole atmosphere - you can really feel the cold and how you battled on, then quit. And the music - it just fits the scenes so well - the Ten Towers track and then "These fish don't bite". I guess also because we were quite close to you on the Montgomery canal (frozen in) at almost that exact time, and we traced your path a couple of weeks later, i remember it so well.

Hugely enjoying your narrow boating adventures. This canal, from Ellesmere up to Llangollen and back, was the very first one that my parents and my younger brother and I did in hire boat 'Morwenna' back in the Autumn of 1979, after which we were hooked! We lost my dad to cancer four years ago, so watching this is a bittersweet experience, brings back so many good memories. As others have said, your lovely smiles and camaraderie as you chug along make these delightful viewing, so thanks - and keep 'em coming!

We had a holiday on that canal a few years ago. The most spectacular canal we have been on, Both Aquaducts are quite staggering pieces of engineering and spectacular to cross. You feel like the boat is flying. Have a wonderful trip ladies:)

I think traveling on the canals in a narrow boat looks like such a relaxing, pleasant way to travel. I just know, if we had narrow boats in the United States, someone would come up with a heated (probably air-conditioned as well) cab for steering. We are so into roughing it... in a comfortable way. Another thing we might do is have speed races on the canals. They would be full of speed boats with water skiers towed behind. This is why I love your videos and think I might have been born in the wrong country.

What a beautiful autumn cruise on the Llangollen canal. But I feel for you standing at the tiller for hours not moving, the cold must really seep down into your bones. When I rode my BMW motorcycle in winter I used an electric vest to combat the devastating windchill. I suggest you look into electrically heated motorcycle gear, available as vests, jackets, gloves, socks and full snow suits. Yes, it is expensive but it will keep the person at the tiller toasty warm. As long as the engine is running there will be plenty of power. A short 12v. power cord to your engine instrument panel or a worn lithium battery would do the trick.

Standing on a metal boat not moving much , in winter and surrounded by water is not nice even with the engine under neath -our best answer was to buy top of the range walking boots - expensive but worth every penny -if your feet are warm it comforts the rest of your body -(heat rises) - - - - another lovely video -thank you

Did that canal a couple of years ago - not in winter though. We had an interesting experience after descending the locks at Hurleston Junction and joining the Shropshire Union Canal - our rudder fell off! It was a hire boat, but the hire company were really good and fitted it back on. The blame lay with the previous hirers who got the rudder caught on a cill in a lock, honest!

Make certain the cats are safely locked away, the best is yet to come when you turn left after the aquaduct, it gets quite narrow . Nice marina at Llangollen with electric hook ups. Just a thought - we used to get wooden racking made to fit across the floor when on the tiller in winter - the floor being metal makes it feel even colder - wood is a lot warmer -but hang on in there your videos are great ! - - thank you -

Having had or been around cats for 40+ years. Cat do what they want when they want. It only seems that they follow our commands! I love dogs also but cats just fascinate me! They seem to know exactly what mood I am in at the moment. I have had cats that know when I am in a nasty mood and just want to be alone. Stumbled on your vlog by chance and loved seeing a bit of the Llangollen Canal again - when I was a kid my parents used to take me on canal holidays (1974 was our first) and they ended up buying a 46ft narrow boat and enjoying a lot of their retirement on it. As a small boy I nearly fell from the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct - It was raining and I was running on the footpath - I jumped onto the stern deck from the footpath mid way across the aqueduct - I fell and slid across the deck. My dad, who was helming, stopped me by kneeling on my legs as I passed him - I ended up with my head and shoulders well over the side of the boat and over the side of the trough (is there a rail that side these days? - there wasn't back then). Not sure I could cross it again even though that was years ago - but I do find myself longing for a canal holiday - maybe the South Oxford.
