I totally agree that Sign Board should be in English , Tamil & Kannada languages since serving these states. Also Sign boards of Railway Stations in South India should be in State Language, English & Hindi -since Hindi is not popular in the South . Lastly food on trains in South India should reflect the food of the state & on Vande Bharat , Breakfast should be Idlis, Vada,'s Dosa's , Puris etc . Lunch Dinner should have South Indian dishes like Bise Bale Bhath, Curd Bhath , Sambhar Rice with papads etc in a spicy form to preserve the culture of those states..This Chappati, Paneer , Dhall combinations are NOT eaten by South Indians & should be removed from Menus once trains enter South India.

See. We accept English not Hindi. Hindi is our own language but English is not. I love all our languages but still believe that India must have a national language (but not forcibly)...be it Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Bengali, Hindi or any other language. I don't think anyone from either Tamil Nadu or Karnataka would have any issue with Vande Bharat being written in Hindi script. In Indian Railways, many a times you'll witness bogeys from Southern railways with certain words in Tamil scriptures running on Northern Railway routes without any issues. However, if someone simply wants to spew hatred between 2 states then anything can be considered as a provocation. As communities we all have distinct culture, language, food, & traditions, but as a nation we have survived by respecting eachother's way of life & not transgressing into it. Let's hope better sense prevails before the madness takes over us.

I don't get it - Why not ALWAYS have the signage in the local language first? Maybe if it was in Kannada and Tamizh, people wouldn't have minded a Hindi Logo either. We are a multilingual country, lets respect ALL languages including English, which is now a de-facto Indic language.

Sleeper VB may not come at all. Sleeper coaches have lower margins especially over long distances, and may not be fully occupied at all.

Train serves two states official languages being Tamil and Kannada no need to insert the language hardly anybody can read. English branding is fine and inside information display also replaced by kannada Tamil and English so that passengers get served in their own language! Good move SR!

I am a Bengali. I do not envy the Hindi language. I love listening to Hindi songs and watching movies. I think Hindi language is very simple language. Which is easy to say and understand. Among all languages, Hindi is best suited as a national language.

Calm down! That link language will either be English or Chinese. No other ways to go, anywhere in the World. Be pragmatic not idealistic in this aspect. Being idealistic, I would love all languages including even some remote language as the national language. But in reality, it will be the one with the highest importance and ROI on it, while keeping alive the native languages inside the communities.
