Disclaimer: Argon gas has been used for shielding purpose. However, by mistake I called CO2 gas. Please consider Argon. Argon is an inactive gas and CO2 is an active gas.

Co2 is not an inert gas .. argon or helium or their mix is used for tuig welding

After Root pass, the welder will do the hot pass. is there any time limit to maintain that after this much time only the welder should perform the hot pass? OR is there an temp that after which the w/p comes down to this temp is eligible to go for hot pass? Same question regarding the capping & filling? (P.S. In my workplace root & hot pass by TIG using ER70S-2 and capping & filling by SMAW using E7018)
