I received the baptism of the Holy Spirit a few years ago, however I feel like I’m just saying the same phrases over and over. I’ve been praying and believing for a more fluent prayer language.

I believe that one hinderance to recieving the Holy Spirit is a denial that speaking in tongues is the first sign given that a believer has recieved the Holy Spirit. These scriptures prove that it is the only sign given( Acts ch.2,10,and ch.19). Once prayed for and filled with the Holy Spirit, we must surrender the only member of our body we can't tame, which is our tongue( James 3:8). After i prayed for and was filled with the Holy Spirit, i simply opened my mouth and started relaxing my tongue as a way of surrendering it to the Holy Spirit After a few seconds, i became aware of the Holy Spirit seizing ( taming) control of my tongue and i began to fluently speak in tongues.

Good day sister, thanks for another great message. I must say however that I am a little confused with the different opinions about "initiating" or kick starting the speaking in tongues. The bible say that the Spirit gave them utterance not us giving the utterance to the Spirit. So to me (if I get this right) they did not step out in faith by pronouncing a couple of words until they got it right. It seems that they started to speak in tongues right away without being told to try. I have seen water baptism where the pastor was putting pressure on the person by getting him make sounds and then he would say "that's it" you speak in tongues. This is supposed to be something supernatural is it not. I am worried about ending up making my own tongue. Thanks

I know there has been confusion in this area and I honestly don’t have the answers. All I have is my experience which was a friend telling me that she thought everyone could pray in tongues and I had never heard that before since I went to churches that NEVER talked about the gifts of the Spirit so I asked God and asked Him if that was true that I wanted to. About 2 weeks later of of nowhere I was at home on my couch laying down and all of a sudden my tongue felt kind of numb is the only way I can describe it and I started praying in tongues. After that I could pray in tongues anytime at my will so I do believe we have to work together with Holy Spirit and allow Him to pray through us. If you feel the unction, like something wanting to come forth than you have to open your mouth and allow Holy Spirit to have His way. I would honestly take your question to God but I do have a hard time with people that “push” people to start praying in tongues because the Holy Spirit leads us, He doesn’t push us and I know when I get put under pressure I freeze up personally. I read a few books on praying in tongues when I first received the gift and that really helped me. It is something we do in faith since we don’t understand what we are praying which the flesh doesn’t like and the enemy tried to use that among other things to try and discourage me when I first received the gift so it’s something I had to press through. “For one who speaks in an unknown tongue does not speak to people but to God; for no one understands him or catches his meaning, but by the Spirit he speaks mysteries [secret truths, hidden things].” ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:2‬ ‭AMP‬‬

True...although the book of Acts in recording the first infillings of the holy spirit with the sign of speaking in tongues see acts chpt 2, 10 and 19. You now have the benefit of those recordings...my advice is to pray n praise asking for the holy spirit...see luke 11 and as Jesus said in Mark chpt 16 vs 17 the tongue will follow all believers ( of this). Shalom. I have been blessed by this video as I am seeking God for the baptism of the Holy spirit. I would like to ask if a person under demonic bondage can receive the baptism and the demons are cast out in the process or the person first needs to be delivered then receive the baptism?

Glory to God! The way that I have usually seen it happen is the demons are first cast out and then the person receives baptism of the Holy Spirit but I never put limits on God because He can doing anything in any way or order He wants to! I would seek after God by prayer and fasting and if the demons don’t go that way then look for someone to cast them out, you can check out Isaiah Saldivar’s deliverance map and see if there is anyone in your area. I think the main thing to receiving is really going after God and surrendering our hearts to Him. I will be praying for the Holy Spirit to led you to freedom and receiving what is yours in Christ 🙏🏼

We are wired in a way to hold only one spiritual realm at a time, either God or devils. This is why born again christians cannot be possessed because the holy spirit is already there. I suppose devils have to leave then the holy spirit comes in

Friend...simply follow Jesus teachings on asking for the Holy Spirit from Luke 11. Asking is the criteria the lord looks for...and then keep on asking. Then accept Jesus teaching on what happens to believers in Mark 16 vs 16 - 20...speaking in tongues follows believers of what he said in Mark 16. Prayer and praise to God and asking for the spirit...certainly seek god to have any blockages removed...no such problems for the 120 praying in Acts 2, then Peters Act 10 vs 44 - 48 preaching saw hearts open and suprise suprise gentiles speaking in tongues, and then Paul in Acts 19 vs 1 - 8 instructing Johns disciples on water baptism and yep you guessed the Holy Spirit poured out with speaking in tongues evidenced again. Summary Pray, ask, read, praise and be a humble believer of gods word. Kerry

The biggest hindrance to believers receiving the Holy Spirit baptism is the false teaching that upon hearing and believing the gospel message that they recieved the Holy Spirit right then. The Holy Spirit is recieved as the result of the Holy Spirit baptism. That's why the O.T. prophets had the Spirit come upon them, fill them and then leave for a time because God hadn't made being " born of the Spirit" available to believers yet. That all changed in Acts ch.2. The Holy Spirit baptism is " the anointing that abideth" (1 John 2:27) and without it a believer isn't saved/ born again yet

If you believe with your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved. This is the gospel by which you are saved. That you believe that christ died for forgiveness of sins, according to scripture, was burried and rose again in accordance with with scripture. For it is by Faith through Grace that you are saved, not by works, lest any man should boast.

@@EmeraldHeart4Christ It is, of course, true that we are saved by grace through faith, not of works. There is nothing we can do to earn or merit salvation. However, because salvation is a free gift there is something we must do to recieve that gift. In the original Greek ,that the N.T. was written in, the Word " recieve" means, " to take hold of" . To recieve the free gift we must obey the gospel plan of salvation. Jesus himself gave Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven ( Matt.16:19 ). In Acts 2:38 Peter spoke those keys at Pentecost. They are to repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and to recieve the Holy Spirit. These aren't " works" to somehow " earn" salvation but steps of obedience to recieve the free gift.The catholics teach a salvation by works and the protestants teach faith without obedience. The only church body that teaches true salvation are the Apostolic pentecostals because, as Jesus said, " Narrow is the way and few therebe that find it". One has to be looking for The Way in the first place in order to find it or not. Most have not.

Well said friend...theres so many false doctrines and prophets who tell interested people they are.. 1. Saved by a confession of faith. 2. Just believe and you saved. 3. The process of laying on of hands does not automatically mean a persons received the holy spirit. 4. Flat out denying speaking in tongues is still relevant, still happens, is a sign see Mark 16 vs 15 - 20, Acts 2 vs 1-4, 33 and 37- 39. Water baptism is essential part of being born again. Kerry

Dude, do you read the book of Acts 2 vs 1-4, the holy spirit came and they dpoke in tongues. Peter confirmed in vs 33 that you now see and hear it and concluded in verses 37 - 39 you need to be baptism in water and receive the holy spirit and its a promise then, to your children and to all those afar off...as many as the lord god will call. I believe this is an important topic but I have to strongly disagree with the author of the book you were quoting from. I cannot find anywhere in scripture that says everyone receives the gift of tongues as proof of the baptism. The few accounts of tongues I believed the people began to speak in tongues without consciously trying to start it themselves. One story I read a soldier during World War 2 started speaking in tongues in his sleep and woke himself up doing so and was unable to stop for awhile. Even in the Bible nowhere does it say they received the holy spirit and were told by the apostle to just start speaking whatever, it happened automatically. If you have to be prompted to do it, it just isn't real. I am not trying to challenge your faith but that author sounds like he is doubling up on a false belief because if he is wrong and just speaking gibberish then it makes him look really foolish. I am not trying to challenge your faith. I love my Christian brothers and sisters and I also believe that the gifts are still present today, but I am losing faith in that idea or that the baptism of the holy spirit is even real as I have not seen or experienced it myself in a way that lines up with scripture.

@@crystalbottger885 I appreciate your prayers sister. If I have anything left to surrender, I don't know what it could be. I was laid off last month and have used the time to work on my relationship with God. I have put aside all willful sins and repented, I have surrendered all I have and all I am, I have trust in Him and not worried even though if I don't find another job within two weeks I will lose everything including custody of my daughter. If you knew me you would know that last one was the most difficult. As far as what he has asked me to do he has asked me nothing. I have not heard from Him in some time. If something changes I will let you know so as to not worry you.

I’m agreeing with you in prayer that Jehovah Jireh our Great Provider will provide you with the right job. Now is the season of the trial by fire to prepare the church, many believers are going through the cleansing but God is faithful to His children, your pursuit of Jesus during the trial has not went unnoticed and the breakthrough and blessings are coming! 🙌🏼
