This is simply amazing, this is the most pious, peaceful & prayerful morning routine! In my Mauritius hindu tradition, we put out little food like this only one day a year for the insects, dogs, birds, fish and trees as well as favorite food, cigarettes and alcohol(if they liked it) for the deceased & ancestors. There is only one shrine where all the devas & devis stay, two shrines for the guardians of the house & ancestors, one shrine for hanuman at the entrance and one shrine for Tulsi. and pray in the direction of the sun(anywhere you are standing and see him) so seven shrines where daily prayers & offerings are done. I do not have this luxury in Europe but i really hope that in the near future i can make it happen again 🙏

The flowers used are based on the colors of the 9 gods /9 direction of the compass (Dewata Nawa Sangha) Lord Brahma, the color red is in the south, Wishnu is in the north, black. white, Iswara is in the east, etc. like the shape of a square, round, etc. are part of Yantra, Tantra and Mantra, there is still much thing that hasn't been explained here. But all has meaning on it

This is very similar to the Nityakarma practiced by Brahmins across India. The local practice varies from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Gujarat to Manipur. I have also seen similar practice amongst Buddhist in South East Asia. Sandhya is performed at the beginning and end of day.

It takes 12 months for the departed soul to transit to Pitruloka. Therefore even in India we offer food and things they liked untill the Shraddha. I am sure this same practice is followed in indigenous culture of NE including Bathouism.

I am nepali and buddhist. We believe in the same thing we do offer the first bite to gods, kul, pitri and bayus whatever is cooked in the kitchen. We also believe that those who recently passed away and haven't completed their badro period (49 days after death) cannot consume what we offer even though they r very hungry. So, we do a daily\occasional ritual that is sur sang. In sur sang we burn foods like flour, sugar, butter, milk, curd, biscuit,etc mixed with sang\insences powder so that those hungry spirits can fulfil their hunger with the smell of it..

@@sumina_magar Buddhism and Vedic Hinduism are Dharmic faiths. Sanatan Hinduism practiced in Nepal and India is a mixture of Vedic and indigenous animist faith. Both Dharmic and animist faiths are based on the concept of agnosticism and ancestors worship. Agnosticism means they know that the human mind cannot decide or definitely say if god exists and in what format. They believe in creator but also believe that there is an endless cycle of birth and death until end of time. The soul (Atma) just leaves an old body and is downloaded into a new body. The soul likes to be fed and therefore the near relatives of the one deceased make offerings to the departed Atma. This can be done in form of offering to Agni (, यज्ञa) or offerings to animals or hungry people (अन्नदान)

Ngejot yg disebut Yajna sesa ,sebenarnya kaatur dipelinggih sekitar rumah, pemeson ,apit lawang , dapur ( dikompor, di talenan. gak perlu sebanyak itu sebab filosofisnya menghormati atau ingat sama saudara 4 yg diajak lahir ,mereka saudara kita ( yeh nyom ,darah ,ari ari ,lamas dan bayi yaitu kita sendiri setelah kita dewasa, mereka pelindung kita selalu berada dekat kita yg disebut anggapati, mrajapati ,banaspati ,dan Banaspati raja ,ingat saudara 4 berarti mereka menuntun kita untuk keselamatan kemanapun , mereka pada diri kita di buana agung menjadi pepatih Ida bhatara ,pada diri kita menjadi.dewaning panca maha buta bersama siwa atma kita ( tanah ,air ,api ,udara ,ether ) dan ini unsur2nya di dalam badan ( jika dihidupakan ) ajaran mendapatkan ( konsep buta dan dewa ) ,bukan butha itu jagat karena beliau berasal dari unsur alam ,tapi jika tidak ingat sama sekali maka kita sering ketemu kesulitan . Intinya ngejot untuk keharmonisan alam ,lingkungan dan keluarga kita sendiri satu rumah ( keharmonisan rumah tangga ) ,konsep harmonisasi / hubungan tri hita karana ! Itulah konsep filosofi ritualnya ! Jadi ingat jiwa kita ( siwa atma ). berasal konsep sanatana ( rohani ) , Sanatana dharma tertinggi yaitu Tuhan yang Maha Esa .jadi ngejot /.Yajna sesa adalah konsep bhakti kepada Tuhan , ttg siwa atma kita ( yang ada di dlam badan kita unsur material dan rohani ( buana alit ) ,di buana agung Tuhan yang Maha Esa ( Ida Hyang Widhi )

Interestingly , the Balinese have elaborate shrines but almost no images of the gods . The lady seem to be performing Balivaiahvadeva, Surya argya , pooja , pitru tarpana and bhoota yajna all at once . Also ,cshe is wearing her slippers while performing the puja , unlike is Indian/Nepalese/Pakistani/Bangladeshi/Sri Lankan / Afghan Hindus .
