Surya Dev, the Sun God, was scared to see Hanuman and asked Indra Dev for help. To save him, Indra hit Hanuman with his thunderbolt and he fell from the sky. Do you think by any chance that this narrative seem very a kind to children's fairy tale, mythology, or folk lore that got mixed into their scriptures over the generations? The original author is not known. Just image Paul Bunion, Cinderella, or Snow White making its way into religious scriptures, that would look weird, but image it was put their for centuries where its originals and authors were lost forever, now you would have belief believing these stores are real.

@@Thetruthseeker4468 I think when European and other groups get involved with Hinduism they tend to place more emphasis on more solid aspects that exist perhaps some alternative medicine techniques, meditation, yoga, etc but leave out the weird stories because even they know there is something strange about these narratives. It's not like you can approach a UK or American guy and ask do you think a monkey or an elephant is god? But he would probably quote pop culture "karma" similar to the singer John Lennon was talking about. People who express interest would take a few things here and there but never really accept the complete belief system because they would have to confront the Ram and Sita situation. Thank being said, many Hindus are probably questioning their faith having more exposure to other ideologies, and taking another look at Islam perhaps a different view from the 1940s when Lord Mountbatten was still a viceroy to India. Now there are more Islamic resources online and social media thus, Hindus maybe questioning their faith or stay in it for political reasons but their hearts are no longer in it. Some try to hold on to these teachings that are seeming to fall apart. That is where we are getting this extreme conservative Hindus, some even anti-Islamic. A futile attempt to reclaim the past glory.
