I am pashto speaking pashtoon. According to independent sources pashtoons were initially Hindus. Then they adopted Buddhism. In the era of chandragupta Moria they adopted Hinduism again. The story of Jewish qais Abdul rasheed adopting Islam has no solid ground. On the arrival of Arab sufis pashtoons adopted Islam. As we Pashtoons love our religion Islam, we cannot accept that pashtoons could ever have been polytheists. The Hindus in this video could be from genuine pashtoon descent as all other of us. The archaeological remains of upper and lower pukhtoon areas simply prove it.

Peshawar derived from word Pesha (occupation) because it was home to different professionals from all over Indian Sub-Continent. They came here through different cultures, occupation, traditions and religions. They were employed by different rulers. The main evidence here is Qissa Khwani Bazaar (Story Telling Bazaar) Where the soldiers and professionals of different languages used to tell the stories of their culture and region. The mixture of these languages lead to the invention of Urdu/Hindi language. We should be thankful to our elders to give us the beautiful gift of this language.

These Hindu Pashtuns have nothing to do with Islam. People of Indo-Iranian ethnic groups like Pashtuns, Balochis and Hazaras were mostly Zoroastrians with minority being Hindus and Buddhists. All Pashtuns of Afghanistan, Pakistan and India were converted to Islam later. A good number have converted to Sikhism and some have remained Hindus.

These are Pashtun-Hindus of kakar tribe. They are from Quetta and the tribal belt of kakaristan region. Hindu Pashtuns of kakar tribe were in great number in the past. One thing is misunderstood, people think that the kakar Hindus are effected by the Hindus of india but the kakar are ancient Aryans who were following the vedas but today as the majority of vedas followers are from Hindustan so the religion is named as Hinduism and the people who follows vedas are now termed as Hindus. The kakar were vedas followers, they became Muslim in the ghaznavid period but they were not of Hindu territory of present day Hindustan(India).

They Physically do not look like Pashtuns because Pashtuns have a distinct Mediterranean type of Look Among Pakistanis. There is a huge difference look among Pakistani Punjabis and Pashtun. Punjabi have that Real North Indic Look. @@lutethemage5053 Hinduism is not a race , it’s a religion , Pashtuns score 30-40% west Asians blood on average , some baloch score even higher around 50 or so % since they are related to the Kurds which makes them different to the subcontinent races who score 80-100 % south Asian , also both the languages have similarities to other iranian languages , just borrowing a few loan words from the neighbouring Indian people doesn’t make them the same , I’m not showing hate just stating a fact , pashtun culture itself doesn’t show any elements of Hinduism as such , plus pashtun are identified with tribes and none of these tribes have Hindus in them , just because some Hindu has lived near a kakar settlement for a few generations or centuries doesn’t make them related by blood , get your facts straight , what religion was followed by the majority of the pashtun in the past stays a mystery and there’s a possibility that multiple religions were followed by them since Afghanistan borders Central Asia , iran and the sub continent , also there’s no denying to the fact that pashtuns do carry some ancient Indus Valley blood but comparing then to the rest of the India is plain stupidity

Ashfaq Khan Afghanistan's population is 30 million and there are 23 million Pashtuns living there easily making us 65% of the total population while Pashtuns on a whole in Pakistan are 15% out of a total population of 200 mill. That means there are only 28 million of them in Pakistan, not your imaginary 40 million figure which you obviously pulled out of your ass. BTW, not everyone in KPK is "Pashtun" like these folks.

These people can be ethno-linguistically Pashtun by speaking Pashto. However, to be ethno-racially Pashtun, one's father has to be Pashtun. Also, you need to belong to a Pashtun confederation and tribe.

Ravi Singh, Why r u behaving like illiterate?? R u aware of anthropology, just search the history of Pathan. They are one of twelve lost tribe of Israel. Under the leadership of Qaise entire community converted into great religion Al Islam. You will find every other community within Muslim like Arab, Panjabi, Sindhi, India not all are muslim some Arab are Christian, 30-50% Punjabi, Sindhi are Hindu or Sikh. But Pathan is the only community within Muslims who is 100% Muslims. Not willing to hurt anyone else just providing the facts.
