I hate how their lawyer so confidently says he is certain that once they appeal they will be found innocent of all charges. In other words they'll try to bribe the judges and jury if there is one. I hope the workers get all the money they are asking for which is like pennies to this rich family. This family should be ashamed of themselves and held accountable for more than 4 years.

Similar things happening in Mumbai. People from UP Bihar are hired by rich here as they're ready to work on poor minimal wages and are overworked on an average time of 10-11hrs, a kind of slavery indeed. This has broken the social fabric of the middle class families with four dependents on them on an average, as they are becoming jobless or forced to work on lower wages. Their work life balance has gone for toss. Government should bring stringent laws on minimum salaries and working time limit. One such rule was brought by former minister Late. RR Patil for the police force, their working hours were reduced to 8hrs from 12hrs, which has significantly improved physical and mental health for the force over the years, they look more fit today as compared to their condition in 2000's when they had typically bigger tummies.

I used to be a private show room secretary for a very close contact of the Hindujas. My boss (Mr. Ashock Kumar Tandon and his Knightsbridge show room office called Million Dollar Homes and another company called Million Dollar Houses. This was approximately 40 years ago, but I am blessed with an accurate verbatim memory. I recall Ash telling me this after I was trying to get a raise! "I could go to India and hire 20 men for £1 a day, to work from sun up to sun down. Whilst, wages were far lower then, this statement he made proved how he thought and how easy it is to exploit the poorest and most desperate! As the saying goes; "Birds of a feather flock together!" My boss had a stack of Forbes Magazines piles up over 3' high on the carpet upstairs, hidden by his large desk. The front cover showed a photograph of the father, with his son's places around him on the outside. The headline, which should easily be stored in their archives, stares "How did the Hindujas Get So Rich?" The reporter implied from obscurity? The entire magazine was dedicated to the Hindujas and listed a catalogue of illegal activities and corruption. Money laundering, racketeering, prostitution, etc. There didn't appear to be any major headline crime left out!

At the time, my boss had built a very large house in Highbury & Islington, London called The Summer Palace. It had been designed to appeal to Arab tastes and was on the market for £12,500,000 but still remained unsold after 18 months. This caused Ash huge financial accruing debts and interest at his bank. Things got so bad, he raised his 6 year old son's piggy bank and gave me the cash to go and buy some snacks. I bought Twiglets! 😂

After Ash left with his wife and 2 children for a 6 weeks holiday at a Health Spa in Florida, I was the sole person holding fort in the office. I had been instructed by him to type out a list of all callers and fax through at the Florida hotel just before I left 5:30/6:00 PM daily. I was also well versed and knew that I must list every person who called and stare as a headline how the caller had referred to him by babe. He choose a different derivative and therefore, different strokes for different folkes. Examples; Ash = 5**** and that was close personal and directly actively assisting. Mr. Tandon, or his middle name; Kumar or even Mr. Kumar, Ashock was usually old family or old family connections. Not long after he departed, I received a visit from a High Court Baliff who promised to return within days to remove my desk, filling cabinets, Ash expensive desk, framed photo of his super yacht moored in Niece, with his french Captain onboard etc. I also received another visitor who was very much in the know. He told me that my boss had been got at and never took the same route, always unpredictable, always used a different classic car jaguar (he owned a lot). I also had to abandon the idea of unlocking one day, because someone must have opened up the downstairs sky roof which was downstairs near the very rear nearby to a small internal courtyard. Pigeons were flying about inside the show room and smashing Kami KAZI into the front window which covered the entire width of the office and also smashing into the internal solid glass door too. Buzzing like flying vermin throughout the entire show room and blood splattered all over the glass and walls! It resembled a horror film. I could not enter and answer the constantly ringing telephone. As I didn't possess a mobile, I had no other option but to buzz up another and explain my problem. Luckily he knew my boss and called the handy man who my boss used! The handyman arrived very quickly and told me to go home as he would handle the clean up! I also received numerous calls throughout the day and for a number of days from his french captain who was looking after his super yacht moored in Niece. The poor man had not been paid his salary in 6 months and was desperate! He kept pleasing with me to tell Ash, which I did at the end of the day when I faxed all our conversation through to Ash by text to his Spa Hotel. Ash called me the next day and told me never to put that in a fax ever again! I had only been following his orders!😂 The captain called me again the following day, still desperate for his salary and also to inform that the french port authorities were threatening to impound his yacht because the port authority fees had not been paid in over 6 months! The captain called again the day after, still awaiting his promises salary? The french carries out their threat and seized his yacht and kicked the captain off! He had no choice and checked into a nearby hotel. Unfortunately for the captain, rumours spread fast in Niece and within a day or so, the hotel he was staying at, must have heard about his bosses bad debts and now viewed the captain staying at their hotel as a financial rush. Therefore, they demanded that he settle up daily and wouldn't allow anything to go unpaid and on his bill as a payment due! By nuw he was a bear hysterical screaming tearful mess, desperate to get paid. He had called me repeatedly at least 3/4 times a day for a number of days! I began to grow concerned and I also wondered if my own monthly salary would make it safely into my bank? I didn't need to worry, because Ash must have realised I may be thinking 🤔 the same thing! He needed me in the office as his informer. I was also useful as window dressing too! He called me and told me to go and collect the weeks rent from one of his rentals in Knightsbridge. I did as requested and took my own salary out of the money given to me and kept the change for Petty Cash.. When Ash returned, I got tipped off, that although he was heavily in debt because The Summer Palace still remained unsold, he needed to quash remours, so his wife went out in Knightsbridge and the best places, top shops, art galleries, fashion houses, etc., and wanted to be seen splashing the cash in a big way! This would give the impression that the rumours of his bad debts and going under were not true! It was also vitally important to keep up this facade of pretence, otherwise, it would not only be bad for business and his Viv status, embarrassing too, but more importantly he would get badly ripped off by very low offers being suggested to purchase The Summer Palace! I witnessed as an onlooker how all interested in the property market or a particular property are able to obtain insightful insider financial knowledge and clearly all players certainly appeared to know are must likely were using this against him. They knew he was financially accruing interest daily and his debt was escalating, but by stalling because they wanted to buy the property at a far cheaper price, became a game of poker!

Justice was served, but what about my case. I am Indian and I am forced to work without pay here in USA. I am supposed to get paid, but am not. I can’t find anyone to help me. The Human Rights Commission and Civil Rights Department all said I am a victim of human trafficking via slave labor. I was given numbers and emails of people to contact, but i keep getting told it is out of certain government agencies jurisdiction and sometimes I get bounced back to people who are supposed to help, but can’t. Some of the emails I sent bounced back or never get responded back to. I became homeless because never got paid and still have not gotten paid. I am still forced to work and can’t find anyone to help. I live in USA in the state of MD. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!
