Unpopular opinion - Social media overrated Imran Khan, as if his entire career is based on the nostalgia factor of that one movie. In terms of acting skills he was pretty average tbh.
@nimnim4467
@nimnim4467 5 ай бұрын
most Imran Khan fans do acknowledge the fact that he is a bad actor. He did just good enough for the types of films he was in (i.e., commercial popcorn romcoms). What was the most important though, was the fact that he was likeable. In a film world full of Arjun Reddys and Ranvjay Singhs, even I would love it if Imran and his mediocre acting make a comeback.

@@nimnim4467 Among Arun Reddys, Animals, etc there are many sensible storylines as well which go unnoticed often due to artists involved not belonging to filmy background. You can support such new artists rather than expecting an ageing actor to deliver charm from his chocolate boy days

@@nimnim4467being "likeable" is subjective. You might find Imran likeable, i might not. İnfact, i find Ranvijay Singh (despite his negatives) to be a more authentic and raw character as compared to probably any of the characters played by Imran. İnfact, most of the people nowadays that say how they "like" Imran and his past movies, is just his PR team doing a good work, cause in no way would any legit movie enjoyer say that İmran's characters are even comparable to the likes of Ranvijay Singh (acting wise ofc...).

@Pricklypeen Wrong. Firstly, Amitabh never transitioned to "character" roles completely. Rann, Yudh, Sarkar, Baghban, Buddah Hoga Tera Baap, Virudh, Aarakshan, Nishabd, Paa, Black, etc... all had him in LEAD roles. Second, we are talking about longevity here.. I don't see I think Amit ji is getting that kind of a film from a production house like Dharma. in terms of upholding stardom and ensuring "longevity" , KBC has done more for Amit ji in the last 20 years than his films.

@@TriedRefusedProductions But doesn't that reflect an establishment that is so well entrenched, and stacked against newcomers & outsiders? In a way, whatever the boycott Bollywood thing was, the status quo of multiple decades should be challenged, right? For example, look at the largely popular cultural representation in Hindi Cinema & celebrity lifestyle. It's essentially a rich, high income South Delhi/Mumbai based Punjabi cultural lifestyle and presentation. Both on screen & off screen. Only in the past decade has Heartland India become mainstream. Forget representing the East or South. An industry, self proclaimed representation of India, based out of Mumbai, not reflecting Marathi culture or any other Indian culture batting what I mentioned above, having a rigid entrenched establishment. How can that be any representation of the real India? No wonder the public doesn't like their stuff anymore. Its not political interference, or effect of southern cinema. It's just the public declaring these guys do not talk for us. Even the reformist politics in these films is not accepted because they talk like polished western media. Btw, been watching some of your videos whenever I can, nice content, loved your review of Aavesham.

Didn't expect that ending, i feel like jammy is the only guy who can bring down srk and ajay from doing vimal ad!!😂. Great job with the video i haven't seen anyone else address this problem at all i mean its crazy for me that actors like vikrant massey, or wamiqa or even medha shankar in the movie 12th fail have to go through such tough times despite proving themselves in every film they have been in as amazing actors. I guess in my innocent age i used to think being beautiful or handsome and also being talented actor or actress means you will be in top of the world but really sad that that's not the case.

I don't get why people criticize Imran Khan so much. He was in a lot of movies that really connected with female audiences. Back then, there weren't many K-dramas for girls to fangirl over, and Imran Khan's movies filled that gap. Even if he wasn't the best actor, he had the looks and charm that made romantic movies enjoyable. Now, we have great Korean dramas, but it's important to remember why so many women feel nostalgic about Imran Khan's films. Today, most movies are either male-focused or try to balance both genders, leaving little room for the kind of fangirling his movies inspired. Why should fangirling be looked down on when fanboying over action-packed movies like Pathan and Baahubali is celebrated? I remember watching his movies with my friends over ten times. When we say Laut Aao Imran, it's not just about him returning; it's about wanting those romantic movies he was in and believing he could still choose films that appeal to a female audience. Women's tastes have often been made fun of when men couldn't relate, like with Justin Bieber, who also had mostly female fans. We need that back in Bollywood, simple, modern romances that make us cheer for the characters. It's time to respect what female audiences want and bring back the kind of movies that let them fangirl without any shame.

You said the right thing my friend. A lot of ladies loved Imran Khan's movies cause his character respected women and wasn't a misogynist. Also all of his movies gave equal importance to the female lead which is often lacking in other Bollywood movies. Not to mention this actor knew how to cater to the Female Gaze which is severely lacking in the Indian movie industry.

I would like to see a video on how actors and actresses are exploited in the film industry for movie roles. This affects both genders, with many having to compromise for opportunities, sometimes only securing side characters. A notable male filmmaker is known for exploiting male actors and that’s how they end up getting movies. Additionally, actors often portray their marriages as ideal, despite having open relationships and infidelity. This video should expose the gap between the idealized images and the reality of actors' lives both on and off camera.
