I am a non-hereditary Hindu who became Hindu about 12 years ago. I have lived in India for a year, had my upanayanam, speak HIndi (how I understood the video) and have studied Tamil and Samskritam. I agree with you. India as a whole, while very welcoming and hospitable, still can have a tendency to view “outsiders” (ethnically) with suspicion as a reflex almost as a competition anxiety. Million new converts, great…but what happens when they start becoming faith leaders, maybe even purohitas in Bharatiya temples…the competition anxiety may kick in and the “insider vs. outsider” mentality may kick in. Just a possibility, obviously this does not apply to everyone and obviously the hospitality of Bharat is nearly unparalleled in most ways. I just notice this insider-vs.-outsider mentality sometimes especially with status (spiritual status or otherwise), and marriage in particular (imagine the controversy if foreign Hindu men take Indian Hindu wives frequently for example).

Hinduism is all about assimilation. When we can adjust to so many sects, cults, beliefs, traditions, customs etc., I believe that it will be a welcome move if Hindu men irrespective of whether they are from India or abroad actually accept and internalize the humility and dharma by giving proper respects to the Hindu women from India in the form of wives. If the effort is genuine then Hinduism itself answers the doubts. There shall be harmony. But if quacks try to fool the Hindus of India by posing as Hindu in order to marry Hindu women, then it will be counter productive. I was a hardcore atheist and secular till class 10. But when I was isolated during class 11 in a room , I started scrolling KZbin shorts for the first time , I came across a channel ~ akhand bharat . He was giving scientifical proof of Hinduism. I thought hindu religion is nonsense, I started wiking for evidences on Google, Quora, started turning sanatan scriptures, found logic , science and many more .
