The Rebbetzin was a mentor to me. She has gotten me through living in New York City for almost a decade. She was such a special woman. I remember the first Hineni class I have ever come to on the West side, that day I will never forget. I went there as a skeptic and walked over to her after class and said, If I were not a Jew I would want to convert after her class. lol. She later became a pivotal part of my life. I wen to every class so religiously. I looked forward to her Wednesday Night classes and would even speak with her and Barbara post classes. I remember her classes got so huge it move to KJ on the upper east side. I then brought about 200 people to this class over the years because I believed in it so much. The Rebbetzin B"H" was there for me when I needed any advice about dating. She even gave me my hebrew name and she thought about it for a week. Later I took my husband there on our third date. I wanted the Rebbetzin to meet him. Israel Jungreis ended up making a beautiful blessing and speech at our wedding in Brooklyn NY. It was so special. The Rebbetzin would have come but she had to be in London at the time, but made it up to us by coming to our first born's bris about a year later. I loved the Rebbetzin Esther so much .I miss her dearly. She was able to take the Torah and incorporate it into every day life. She got to cecular jews like myself and remind us how to be Jewish again and come back to our roots with tradition and prayer. I felt so grounded whilst being in her midst. I learned to pray again and learned to have faith again. She restored my faith in humanity and Judiaism and for that I will never forget her. I loved her. I truly loved her. The Rebbetzin was a strong influence in my conversion. Her death is a terrible loss. I am lucky to have gotten a copy of "The Committed Life" signed by her, even though I never met her and only watched her on TV. She brought me to the true faith. I had a necklace made that says "Hineni" in Hebrew.

I wept for days when I listened to Slovie’s talk on gifts her mother gave her. Since then I’m listening to everything I can find from this wonderful holy woman. How different our lives would have been if we had learned from her when we were young but Hashem knows. He takes us from where we are - Hinei 💖🕊

What a Kiddish Hashem. The Rebbetzin is an amazing example of a holy human being. Her optimism and smile even in the face of darkness is an inspiration to all. if it's not, it should be... wake up! Her calls to action are amazing, she knows people don't move unless asked, she is asking lets all try and move!
