I grew up in Lethem back in the 60s early 70s and left for GT as a teenager. Wow, have those places developed in their own limited way! I'm now in the USA and hoping to visit the interior after the Covid and its mask-wearing masquerade is over. Just curious, what were you folks doing there? I miss the 'raw' natural life where one can enjoy the moonlight in all its glory.

Those purple yams is very nutritious for your body it’s like Beetroot anything purple as a ground provision is good also Jamoon which grows on trees in Guyana you have everything you need to give you a long and Healthy life.Keep away from liquor 🍹 if you want use it as medicine by teaspoon.😷

Loved this video. More like these, please. So about the lack of phone signal...there’s no GTT or Digicel signal in the area? I’m guessing no landlines? What about television? I have so many questions😩 What did you eat while you were there? Did you have a drink at the village shop? Lol. How long were you there and why?

Hahaha! No Gtt, digi or landline phones. They have some type of internet network that u top up your phone with like pre-paid credit. It runs out so fast! Aside from that, we walked with a satellite phone that we use in hinterland areas. It has an antenna & if u find a good spot, u can make a regular call....not sure what network it works on. People have TVs but they use DVDs & internet (if they can afford it) cause there are no channels lol. Remember the water system in the jungle u watched before this video, well we went there to commission that system with the first lady & minister (like a ribbon cutting ceremony). I was there for 3 days to plan for it and we paid a lady nearby the guesthouse to cook for us because she does catering. I downloaded netflix movies on my phone before I left GT to watch in the night lol. Hope this answers your questions.

Tropical places can bring some surprises. Once travelling with my wife through Costa Rica, we went to a jungle hotel that looked really good. We rented a room. But when my wife, who has a phobia to spiders, saw several tarantulas in our room, she panicked, cursed me and forced me to demand for a return of our money. The tropics are not for everyone!
