New here so I have no real past reference to make a comparison with but I can say this format looks solid, orderly and structured, made the video brief and rich. Its like the format itself aids the video to not miss its points by not scattering everywhere, something which most of youtube is plagued with. Theres something about having bullet points constantly upfront and an arrow/highlight that helps relate and wrap around the whole of the video. Im gonna have to steal it myself

The 13th prince seems a little too energetic for a small child that has his nen beast nonstop growing all the time, we know the Nen beasts feed off their prince and I remember one prince was tired from that but this kid is playing around while his beast gets bigger. From the perspective of Netero's lineage being nen monsters I'd say he fits too. Plus the ability to be in a room cut off from the rest of the world seems ideal for surviving a scenario like the succession war. Also he has Biscuit and Hanzo with him, very convinient to involve them back in the story.

I know you think it isn't Woble but i think that there still is a chance even if she's very young. Woble has yet to show her Nen Spirit Beast but what if she doesn't have one? You have to be a direct descendant of the Kakin Ancestors to be able to receive a Nen Beast from the Urn. When we first get an explanation of the Guardian Spirit Beasts, it says that the spirit possesses someone closely related to the dead ancestors who offered their blood to the Urn in the past. If Woble is related to Beyond and not to the King, then it would make sense why the Beast hasn't manifested yet. And we know that you can get a Nen Beast as long as you are somehow blood related to the Royal Family ancestors. Even Zhang Lei who isn't the direct child of Nasubi still has a Nen Beast. He is part of the Royal bloodline as his father Onior, is a half-brother to Nasubi. But Woble having Oito and Beyond as parents can be a reason why she doesn't have a Nen Beast yet.

Sure - the gun has to go off at some point! But even 30 straight chapters of rapid-fire resolution would struggle to resolve everything that's hanging now. And Togashi is still going at a leisurely pace, throwing in more subplots and spending some chapters on Phantom Troupe backstory too. If every plotline suddenly has characters going "All of this will be resolved at the next banquet!" or something, I'll start believing a huge table-clearing event to end the story is coming up.

Honestly I think we are close to the climax of the sucession war. Togashi is putting everything in the table, the last missing piece was actually beyond and now we got it. Togashi likes to surprise the audience, he is setting a delicate power balance in which most fights should be indirect and in secret but if you realize, every single faction is 1 mistake away ( the spiders, the princes, the guards, beyond, the mafia ) from creating complete chaos. I think togashi is setting an expectation of a more indirect war but at the same time he is telling us the power balance is really really fragile and a small action could create a domino effext in which the black whale is in complete and utter chaos, he is giving a short fuse to every faction that could be ignited really easily

Sure, everything could blow up and render 95% of the setup irrelevant overnight. But why? "It would be a surprise, and Togashi wants to surprise us!" doesn't work for me because a lot of things would be a surprise. It would be a surprise if Goku showed up. That doesn't make it likely to happen. I personally don't see more than one prince death happening by 430. If you're waiting for the pace to accelerate into wrap-up mode I think you'll be waiting a while.

If tseri was netro's son. It would make a lot of sense . Issac had the statue(nen beast) as a condition for his ability . He would pray and it would punch . Tseri also has something similar . Instead of praying he goes into zetsu and sees from the 2nd nen beast pov. Also i think beyond is an ultimate level manipulator since we don't have one and because of the curses. Maybe beyond also has same ablity. Where he meets some condition and his nen beast activates

Tserreidnich also is a dead ringer for Isaac Netoro at about the time of his mountain training and Tserreidnich had a somewhat similar obsessive episode without food or sleep with his firearm stripping and reassembling drills to set an academy record to prove a point. He's also a publicly respected man who contains an endless malice and endless evolution (the dual meaning of Netoro's last words to Meruyem) just like both Isaac and Beyond Netoro. He also has a deep drive to sort "useful trash and useless trash" as king in a way similar to Isaac's rather questionable use of the hunter exam almost solely to filter for strength as per his own personal interests in his capacity as chairman of the Association. There's a lot of narrative parallels and similarities to the known Netoro family members and there's a certain contrast with Gon & Killua who are themselves the scions of lines of world class nen masters, this is just a potential case of that sort of gift being on the other side for once.

I still think beyond’s main scheme is more sinister then just having his child win the war. I’m thinking said prince has a curse that’s only triggered when one of his other children kills them. Longhi already wanting to kill the beyond Prince could easily be turned ironically in beyond’s favor if her target was the Beyond Prince….triggering something more dire then just a Prince winning the war. Just an elaborate chess game.

I’m thinking at the moment that it’s either 13 prince or Woble because they specifically fulfill certain directives that benefit Beyond. 1. Ambition, if an adult prince was Beyond’s son the why can’t his son tell him “I’m the king now” and ignore Beyond. So Beyond needs a prince that can’t say no to him and what can’t say no to him a child. 2. Fits with his plans, assuming the appetizing sacrifice theory is correct, then Beyond would be too busy guaranteeing he has prequiste assassins so that means all the assassins are atleast adults. Also if all the assassins are royal guards the only one not to have one assigned to them of their choosing is Woble and why wouldn’t the higher ranked princes pick all the elite guards that Beyond’s kids would certainly be. Also she said 10 know appetizing sacrifices but mentions potentially more. Also with the assassins needed info to be adults that means their curses can’t target children that haven’t been born yet, right? 3. Plot, Woble or 13 are by far the most narrative threats to Kurapika. Terror Sandwhich for example would only gain a reason why he has so much talent but just makes a convenient solution for the arc. Woble would be like do I let myself go into a week of forced Zetsu to protect Woble, or do I prioritize my own goals and let Woble fall.

I think what you're touching on really well is the factor of "Kurapika needing to make a choice." Woble being a secret Beyond baby leads to hard choices and that's excellent! But I think Beyond would just be silly to put all his eggs in a newborn basket... So it's possible that another prince is Beyond's (like Tserriednich) but a baby like Marayam/Woble is also his kid, as a sort of "backup plan."

Big fan of your content and I just binged all your recap videos + this one. I think the big “motivated reasoning” behind the arc ending soon is Togashi’s declining health. People want to believe it will end soon because there’s underlying malaise about HxH never being finished. So, the “20-30 new chapters” Togashi has teased leads people to believe that there’s 20-30 chapters left in the Succession War.

Another reason why beyonds child is probably Tserriednich is that the king would presumably be the father of each queen's first born. It'd be kinda weird if he married and then beyond had their first child. It's also most likely he'd want his child to be from the highest ranking queen. Also it just seems to make narrative sense, with how much Tserriednich has been focused on in the story

I think theres a lot of elements that can end up exploding all at once to produce a conclusion to the arc, while also continuing some factions and story threads into the next one. With implied outcomes of many princes being able to survive in some capacity, there being weird nen sacrifices in the population on the ship and the nen beyond children, and the various criminal orgs. I can see multiple clashing at once, and resolving.

on the silent majority debacle, we see benjamin doing double duty assassinations(salé-salé) so it stands to reason to me that if beleirante is involved he isnt the user, but aiding them in keeping the class going like the pradator combo-wombo banjamin uses, to farm targets each crop. this would be by the user assigning silent majority(like he did to loberry) to a new target who will be induced into the new class and kill non nen-users the first few sessions before they are protected, with another beleirante equivalent as lookout and red herring.

first, i think most fans are coming from a place of faith that whether this arc surprisingly speeds to its finish or takes a long time Togashi will deliver on something amazing. i suspect people predicting/hoping for a wrap up in 30 chapters are doing it from a place of fear that he will stop working again or worse, meet his demise and we won’t get to see a conclusion at all if it isn’t over in 30 (or whatever) chapters.

While I would be fine with the succession war continuing on until a comparable length to the Chimera Ant Arc, I also believe it's feasible for the story to end in 30 chapters. While I love how complicated this arc is and I think I do understand it enough to find it enjoyable, I don't think the artistic intention of the arc is to be understood by the average reader who made it through each prior arc of the story. To me, the succession war is more about having a paranoid, frenzied, schizophrenic tone, and the constant introduction of new plotlines and schemes is meant to represent the hysteria that Nen brings. It gives the sense of a power keg constantly increasing in size, so I don't think that the resolution to these plotlines has to take an equivalent length of time to how long it has taken to establish them. We are already in the midgame. The introduction of new plotlines is what ratchets up the tension This is semi-related to a belief that the succession war is actually supposed to function as a prologue to the dark continent, in that is shows us the effects of a dark continent calamity on humanity. That calamity is nen. Maybe not in name, but in function. The destruction of the black whale and the death of its 200,000 civillian inhabitants. Calamaties have so far been framed as creatures that cause humanity to self-cannabalize

This is a pretty decent argument! And just for reference, that one was about 140 chapters, so "a little more than that" would be my minimum expectation.

Knowing how particular Togashi is, i'd probably consider it a certainity that the arc will be in its endgame once the amount of characters in the succession war surpasses those in the junior youth arc from captain Tsubasa. I think it'll only be obvious in retrospect once the arc is over, but I wonder to what extent all these characters will actually influence the ending of the arc, or all have a cathartic, meaningful ending. By the end, will the reader really be required to remember which guards for which princes were employed on the behalf of which queens? I wonder if all these complicated webs of characters will end up being similar to the card system in greed island: a system that's intimately fleshed out down to the most minute details, but doesn't need to be completely understood to grasp the story. I struggle to imagine any future for this arc that requires the reader to understand all this, which is why i gravitate towards any explanation that says that it won't end up mattering, like the black whale sinking.

I think that the chapters that actually have to do with the princes is half over, especially with how all the pieces are set up and the length and density of 401 I think its very possible the second half of that aspect of the arc could domino fast, that being said the succession war is just the center of a greater "Travel to the Dark Continent" arc so while accounting for the other plots the overall arc is probably closer to 35%~45% over at this point not accounting for an epilogue/bridging arc to the actual dark continent arc.

There’s the theory that parison and beyond initially planted the chimera ants. Maybe knowing their potential and it being an indie recut assassination with the knowledge Isaac netero couldn’t resist the challenge maybe knowing of his bomb flower ability. If the timeline matches from the start of the arc how long has passed ? Because I could see beyond conceiving a child around 9 months ahead of an estimated time if he’s had a ton of experience planting children alongside the timeline of the princes. He would have the time to grow close to the kakin royals and convince the king to plan the succession war. I could only reason for the point he’d wants his child to win the war to being an absolutely comedic level of confidence in the netero bloodline. E.g. going always knew gon would find him as he’s a freeces but scaled up as this story has become. Maybe some form of protection that awoken as sensed by kurapika as long side his men beast. Last thing it makes the plot line where kurapikas new alliance dissolves once this is found out later imposing a really intense condition on him rising the tension like crazy. But honestly it’s most likely Tsuridnich…….

Nothing's impossible, but I'd also question how Beyond got Oito with her first child, right after Nasubi selected her to be his eighth queen. When Nasubi takes a new wife, presumably he's spending time with his bride. That's a window when Beyond might get with an earlier queen (who's already had one of Nasubi's kids), but not such a great window for getting with the new one. Hence the younger siblings (like Tserriednich, Unma's second son) looking more plausible.

I always find it crazy when people assume this arc is a long way along its lenght. I feel its about 1/4 done (should correlate roughly to number of princes dead and left), and that while we're mostly out of the introduction and early deaths, there's still the main chunk of murders left to happen in this middle section, and the "finals" to happen in the last, not to account for the high likelihood of some form of curveball being contained in the Sucession War itself and the Spiders and Kurapika's own subplots when added to the conflict. On a secondary note, I feel like Harkenberg is bound to rise in power to be the dominant force in this section, and then either turn corrupted by this new path or get killed by trust in Tseireidnich. The 9th and the 4th seem placed narratively as the "favorites" of the conflict, and I don't expect the "good guy" to win in the end, especially as a "good guy", since this is Hunter X Hunter we're talking about. My personnal bet is on Wobble, Marryam, Tseirednich and Harkenberg to be amongst the last to fall, and for the "final rush" of deaths to happen once either the MC faction, that of the Big Good, the Big Bad, or most well-defended prince fails. Death of the 14th, 9th or 4th would serve as major story shake-ups, while death of the 13th would be a pristine way to set up an incredibly powerful ability that could shape the last struggle, thus my bet.

Hey I found your channel today, pretty good stuff. I don't think tsereidnich is a an amazing fit. He was my first guess too, but I think it is too obvious to be tsereidnich. Togashi liles to subvert expectations. But more so the fact that tsereidnich wasn't able to use nen, where as every other child of beyond was able to use nen makes me believe he is not a netero

I don't think Beyond would baby-awaken the prince he intends to win it all. Notice that Ging and Silva didn't awaken Gon or Killua, and they certainly wanted their sons to become powerful Nen users. In the long run, it's better to develop naturally.

I mean, Tseri seems like a good choice, but I think it could be Luzurus. Sure, he has hair like broccoli man and is his gang’s sponsor, but that could be part of an intentional misdirect. He also shares many facial features with the Neteros. But the main evidence is his Nen Beast which is about setting a perfect trap by luring people in. His whole attitude is an act, and that requires a schemer. That’s also why he wasn’t interested in nen at all, he already has it, he just hasn’t revealed it since he has the benefit of infant zetsu bestowed by Beyond’s nen curse. Why would Beyond leave his kid without cursing him? Beyond isn’t someone who would just give up control like that.

We have good reason to think the best way to develop Nen isn't to get forcibly awakened as an infant. Silva wants nothing more than to develop Killua as his heir, and he didn't forcibly awaken him. Nor did Ging awaken Gon, even though he designed Greed Island for his development later. So Beyond awakened his curse-babies by putting the curse on them (a Nen attack), but I don't expect he would do it to the kid he actually wants to develop into a winning Prince. I'd expect him to act more like Silva or Ging.

i think there will be atleast another 40 chapters of build but with more things happening here and there and 2 major plot twist,maybe resolve some minors plotlines....after that 50 chapters on the climax,i dont think the climax will be resolved in a few hours due to the type of story togashi is trying to tell so some days will be hell and some will be peaceful....so yh i think 80 chapters should be enough to wrap up this arc....togashi storytelling isnt always methodical so some characters could die in 2 chapters even tho we expected them to be in the endgame,but im not in a hurry and i wouldnt be mad if this arc will last even more than the chimera ant since im enjoying everything abt it

The main argument for why the succesion war could end soon is the fact that togashi has a habit of setting up stuff and not paying off that setup ever. Subvert what everyone is expecting. My money is on the ship blowing up actually.

Remember when it was set up that an ant had the ability to give others abilities? we never saw that (Cheetu got killed before he could show his new ability). And there are probably other setups that where never payed off that I don't remember right now.

I do think that Oito is the user of silent majority, she has been the only one present or closet enough for the firsts row of víctims and Kurapika has not yet check her with his chain, plus I think she has a secondary ability to sensei danger to be able to undertand who is a threat to her, i don't think silent majority user wants to disrupt the classes, instead take advantage of it and kill posible threats, I would love to confirm that Oito is fooling everyone and bill seems to be a Bad teacher maybe he did no check Oito with gyo when she was practicing XD.......now My other bet is beyond-s child, I would Say that it would be someone with great potential OR that already knew nen beforehand, so with that in mind (removing Ben from the ecuation based on what longhi ssid) we have Camilla, tserrinich and halkenburg and between those three I would Say halkenburg, and the only chance for longhi to get rid of him would be the couple of days that he is alone, next how would Kurapika confim that? I do not know, togashi always wants to kill the Main protagonist SO he needs to check they face to face either SEE the mark or check with the chain....... Last beyond wants the power obtained by winning the SW, he should have an ability similar to Benjamin where he can copy or inherit his children abilities or perhaps manipulate them

Secret Badass Oito is possible, but I lean against it because Oito/Woble being simple innocents makes Kurapika's eventual choice (to prioritize his quest for the Eyes or prioritize Oito/Woble's safety) more concrete as an character moment. If Oito is a Nen ninja and doesn't need him so much, it really undermines the weight of that decision.

Great video. But I want to say that if I were Beyond I’d really hope Halkenberg was my kid, he’s highly popular and beloved, intelligent, a revolutionary and very naive. Tserriednich is also very intelligent and a Nen monster but he isn’t particularly popular (yes he is powerful societally), he’s extraordinarily prideful and doesn’t seem very collaborative giving him a vulnerability there. To me Tserriednich is just genetically a highly gifted individual but he really is quite weak judging from his introversion, his murdering of innocent women because of some psycho sexual Freudian shit. Taking out the possibility of another special nen curse (or who knows a parasite) Tserri is a terrible child to be rooting for; personally a younger, more popular child would be the best case scenario. But we don’t know the pride to logic ratio in Beyond, that and we don’t know what Nen tricks he has up his sleeve. Wobble would be cool too.

I somehow feel like Tserri is a red herring for the Beyond baby... I feel like Togashi is slowly hinting at Halkenberg being an insane nen genius and he also shares a lot of the physical characteristics Tserri has in common with beyond. I feel like Tserri's character up until now has been one of genuine pure evil, representing the absolute worst of humanity and making him so different to his siblings while also being the secret netero kind of weakens that part of his character to me.

Quit it with these filler scenes of playing a board game..." As long as you're open to changing your mind, I think this arc will bring you around! We have no real evidence that nen proficiency gets passed downed through genetics. Oito could be the worst nen user in the world even at her full potential and still be a Netero family member, nothing else in this series contradicts this possibility. I agree though that the timing of everything makes it less likely that it's Oito or Woble, but I don't agree with Tserriednich being Beyond's son simply because he doesn't need it. Tserriednich already has a lot going on as a character and villain, making him a Netero is overkill. I also don't think Togashi wants to make the Tserri's friends plot line (artificially) more interesting than it already is - doesn't seem his style. That plot line screams Welfin from CA arc, initially uninteresting but coalesces to be extremely important in the climax, on it's own merits. If we're looking at it through the lense of using this to make certain characters more interesting than they already are, then Maryam makes the most sense. Honestly, most things point at Maryam being Beyond's kid, so that's my bet, though my personal preference would be Oito because she's low key my favorite character that's been introduced this arc, and it'd be fun.

@@ExtraOtter This is true, I guess what I meant to say is that there is no hard evidence. The Gon and Killua thing could very well could be a coincidence. Another possibility is that genetics do play a factor in determining a nen user's potential, but not all the time. Sometimes a baby can be born and their genetics say their nen potential is low despite having parents with high nen potential, and vice versa. This is probably the most likely thing, especially when the story already has themes of people being born in unfair positions (Morena) despite their parents. Still, my point is that the story hasn't confirmed this definitively so there's room for discussion, so I'm not comfortable ruling out Oito on the basis of her nen proficiency.

If you have examples I'd love to hear them! I think painstakingly tracking Welfin's evolving deductions, motivations, and relationships during the Invasion is a pretty good example of small threads being followed all the way through to the end and tying into the main story (he's the reason Meruem remembers Komugi!). Togashi didn't have Dragon Dive kill off Welfin and Bizeff and Palm just because they weren't the main characters. If you think the boat's gonna blow up to wipe out all the riffraff, that's the sort of thing you're expecting.

The plot point with Gyro and Gon, it started in meteor city but went no where, how did Kite resurrect, Poufs plan to turn people into ants directly with his ability, what happens if you loss to Cheatu in his savannah world. There are more, I'm sure, but I haven't read it in a while.

@@AndrewJMar Gyro was Welfin's motivation (and the reason he hated Meruem), Kite resurrected because of one of his roulette abilities as explained by Ging, Pouf did turn Palm into an Ant but the experiment was a failure. So the dropped "plot thread" is a detail about Cheetu's ability? If you expect Togashi to blow up the boat and not resolve these storylines based on that, the next 150 chapters are going to go by very slowly for you.

@ExtraOtter Gyro and Gon were supposed to meet. This was stated by the narrator during Gyros' introduction in Meteor City but never happened. Kite's ability resurrecting him was only Gings best guess. Ging himself said it was a guess. This guess still does not explain how Kite resurrected as a Chimera ant. Cheatu's ability was a Checkovs gun that was never used among many. I did not claim the story was bad. I read all of it, and I'm watching your videos. I am merely pointing out that in this work, many questions go unanswered and will continue to be unanswered. That is the way this world is built. All the unanswered questions only add to the reread value of the series. It also makes the story feel more real since many questions go unanswered in reality. But to claim there are no missed plot points is a little much. I do not even believe missing plot points are a bad thing for writers to do.
