11:56 about your escapes. I know you're pretty good already at it. Just wanna point out for you and others that if you read the group you're in, choose the "least common denominator" IQ player(s) to hide near. In this example, the engie and the sniper were both LCD's even though the engie saw you (his reaction was slow). With the cloak and dagger, LCD detection is super critical to save cloak, keep from getting 1-shot, and increase your chances of escape. Also, even in Highlander Silver, all I needed to do was count on the 3 worst LCD's on the team to not notice me or get picked by me and I was able to do my job, no matter how good the other team was compared to mine, and, oftentimes, without needing a distraction from my team (yes, totally possible if you maximize all the psychology of the Spy).

One tip to improve your spy in general, when cloaking, if the knuckle on the spy's left hand is fully cloaked, that is the indicator you are fully cloaked. I use this so many times to trick people I'm going to a different way.

Something I think is underappreciated about the C&D is how you can use it to fool people by NOT moving. A lot of players will expect you to run away after cloaking to escape, usually to a health or ammo pack, but the Cloak and Dagger makes cloaking and just standing still after.... Just work sometimes.

I think letranger and kunai pair well because with such low health, having a better chance of getting a kill with more time to wait for the right moment to move in. don't disguise before cloaking, they can track you from the disguise smoke. also, use the same button while undisguised that you use to change your disguise's weapon to disguise as the last class you disguised as - way more spamable and less apm intensive than pressing say 411 or 431 constantly. also, as/right before you decloak, it's worth flicking your aim 180 to check behind you/in the direction that enemy players are spawning/walking from as this will allow you to either decide not to decloak yet, or to move in a certain way to dodge bumps/getting shot - watching you just decloak to go for a pick without first checking your back stressed me out sm haha, it's a great way to get instantly headshot, backstabbed, or denied a pick by getting pushed around or poking someone else.

thought I was one of the only ones prefering this to A-K-Dr (amby-kunai-dead ringer). I generally don't like the dead ringer compared to the other watches, it just feels off and do not mix well with the habits I've developped. Meanwhile this loadout is I find the best. The C&D is incredible because of the safety of decloaking at the right time, and the fact that if you suceed, your escape is almost entirely garranteed by the kunai health's benefit. But it's not the most fun to use. The title goes to YER-stock. The ability of going for stabs, cleaning the enemy team away, while keeping your stealth and creating highly believable that have a good chance of actually fooling other players is extremely fun to learn and use.

Spy is my most played and favorite class. Unfortunately, I don’t play him much anymore. 1.- His playstyle is annoying and unrewarding, due to the fact that spy is completely incapable of defending himself if your opponent knows what they’re doing, and rarely gets an opening for a stab that won’t result in his immediate death. 2.- Other classes do his job better, and are more satisfying to play, Sniper and scout in particular. Spy is a flanking class that needs to be close to his enemy in order to deal damage. Scout is also a flanking class that needs to be close to their enemy to deal damage. However, unlike spy, scout is actually capable of defending himself or running away if he’s ever in a sticky situation. Spy’s only advantage over scout is his ability to evade sentry nests and other enemies using his invisibility, but even in that case, if a single stray bullet hits you, or worse, a flame particle, you’re immediately found out and are likely to die anyways, because again, you have no effective means of self defense against a competent player. Spy specializes in killing high-value targets, especially those in positions that are not ordinarily vulnerable. However, since competent players will always keep on the lookout for spies, the only time you have an opening to attack under normal circumstances is when your enemies are distracted, and that usually means they’re fighting someone. Sniper also kills high-value targets, but unlike spy he doesn’t need to put himself in harms way, he doesn’t require that the enemy is distracted, and is not punished for missing a shot nearly as severely as spy is for missing a backstab. The only advantage spy has over sniper is that he can kill targets far behind enemy lines, beyond sniper’s sightlines. Again, however, spy rarely has an opening to kill an enemy unless they’re already engaged in combat, so this advantage is not very meaningful 3.- Everybody has an easier time killing you than you have killing them. The revolver does less damage than using sniper’s rifle unscoped, and unlike the rifle, it suffers from severe damage falloff, and on top of that, is less accurate. This alone makes spy helpless in a 1v1 with a sniper, and that’s not even taking sniper’s ability to simply one-shot him with a headshot into consideration. Engineer’s shotgun is extremely strong. Spy is neither mobile enough nor tanky enough to negate the damage of the shotgun, and his revolver can’t match its damage either. In a 1v1 vs a spy, the engineer wins. Medics, though they’re basically on-par with spy when it comes to damage (excluding melee), have more health, health regeneration, are just as fast, have a stronger melee, and are usually surrounded by teammates. In a 1v1 with spy, though the spy has a much better chance than with the engineer, he’s still not exactly a threat. These three classes are spy’s main targets, and all of them outperform spy in combat. Spy is too weak to kill the classes he’s supposed to counter in a 1v1 scenario, and he’s useless against Soldier, Scout, Demoman, Heavy, and Pyro. 4.- Your “advantages” have extremely punishing downsides that are often times out of your control. Specifically, I mean invisibility, though this also applies to spy’s backstab, since missing it will 9 times out of 10 result in your death, and sometimes hit registration simply doesn’t work properly. However, invisibility is simultaneously spy’s greatest strength and his greatest weakness. Spy gains the ability to become invisible, but while he’s invisible he’s incapable of defending himself. This wouldn’t be a problem if it weren’t for the fact that it’s so easy to find a hidden spy that your enemies (especially pyros) often times find you and kill you without ever having known you were in their vicinity in the first place. It is extremely frustrating when an enemy, who did not know you were there, on a whim, decides to spray some bullets in your general direction, revealing you to his entire team. There was nothing you could have done in that scenario. You can’t predict the whims of your enemies, yet as a spy, you live, kill, and die by them. 5.- Doing well at spy depends more on the incompetence of your enemies than it does on your skill. Don’t get me wrong, skill is still a huge factor when playing spy, but even the best spy will have an extremely difficult time if his enemies know what they are doing. Spy is not a viable class to play as if the players you are going up against are just as skilled at the game as you are. At best, every life you’ll kill one high-value target and then be killed. At worst, you could die dozens of times and never get an opening. Even when spy is at his best (in a match where all the players are of equivalent skill) he’s basically a walking gimmick, and not a very fun/rewarding gimmick at that.

Not sure why I thought of it, but a change to the enforcer that could make it usable: if firing it does not kill an enemy or bring them below some health threshold (30%?), then disguise is not lost. It would make the damage boost actually usable, and could add extra utility to disguises since you could actually play the firing animation for the weapon your disguise has out
