Sometimes unexperienced Spies forget that in direct combat Engineer is stronger than Spy by virtue of his 125-150 health pool (against Spy's 70-125), and the Shotgun outclassing the Revolver in terms of burst damage. Spy's advantage factor comes from Engie being a class with way too many sources of distraction, the Sapper being able to temporarily (if not permanently) able to shut a Sentry, not from Spy being better at combat than Engi. No matter how frail the Texan hardhat looks, he's STILL stronger than Spy in a 1v1.

The concept of playing as your mains enemy/counter JUST so you can learn more about how they play and thus how better to counter them is........ honestly really clever. As a heavy main, I might try playing sniper for a good bit.
@Buglin_Burger78783 жыл бұрын
A lot of Heavy's issues are not so much counters but the fact Heavy is a slow tank sadly. His head doesn't move far relatively speaking meaning a sniper has more time to land that shot. Same with how a Spy can just casually walk faster and backstab a Heavy. Heavy can't survive these... and the only real counters for these are look backwards and don't be in a Sniper's LoS.

Engineer I find is the most important member of any team, even the medic. His machines make the difference between holding ground or losing it many times. A good Engineer who knows his shit can be the bulwark a team cannot get past. Those moments where I fend off an entire team gives me an adrenaline high that lasts a good thirty minutes. Not to mention all the salty players on the other team chewing me out in the chat. He is the one people run to when low on health on defense and the one everyone rallies to before beginning a push on offense. When you play Engineer at first it can be stressful and overwhelming but as you continue to play your mind learns to stay calm while under pressure and unaffected by consistent pressure and continue to keep his nest fully upgraded and operational. You learn to take note of certain weaknesses and flaws at every place you set up and plan contingencies for about everything you can think of. Mainly the popular spots spies will approach you from and how to deal with soldiers and demomen who jump past the front lines with the intent of hitting your nest from the flank. A smart Engineer who knows they're dealing with an experienced spy knows that spy is most likely to approach when the sentry is being fired upon and will watch his flank in the event that spy reveals himself. Here are three pieces of advice I can give for newer Engineers. 1. Never chase a spy should he decide to flee. Remember his goal is to destroy your buildings so just let the spy run. Make him come to you and be ready for it. Force him to fight on your terms, not his. 2. The Wrangler I found is an effective tool to alert teammates to certain enemies. I found that when you activate it, teammates very often look at what the red/blue laser is pointing at and help you kill the threat. Utilize this to get teammates to attack enemies harassing your nest they have not noticed yet. They're attracted to that laser like cats. 3. You can make it harder for spies to stab you while fixing your sentry by moving around erratically as you repair the sentry. If you wish to scan your surroundings while repairing the gun at the same time you can run around your sentry in a circle. This enables you to both fix the gun and scan your surroundings for spies at the same time.

Longtime player here who's done some Engineering as well. 1: Bad idea. Letting a spy get away is just asking for him to strike again when the enemy team's more prepared. ESPECIALLY so if you've already put about 100 points of damage into him. 2: I've almost never seen someone use the Wrangler like this. If I see an Engie firing at "nothing" I assume he's shooting for spies. 3: This gets you shot by your own gun if you aren't careful. Even worse if it's a level three and you get a face full of rocket. Your best bet is to actually learn how to turn around between each swing of the wrench. Or stand on the sentry and face away from the direction the sentry is pointing. Also am a medic main, how dare you undervalue your medic XD

why would a spy hang with far back with a pyro instead of trying to kill enemy snipers and medics, just to (inefficiently) kill a spy that a pyro already is killing for then taking on threats further away. this video was the first in-depth tf2 gameplay video i've ever watched, back in june 2021. i was already quite familiar with the characters and Meet The Team videos beforehand, and had seen many memes featuring them. i had no idea what was being said here because i never played the game or really looked into the gameplay, but i liked what i saw in the gameplay and discussion of this video, and decided to finally try the game out. so, i played all the (bad) tutorials, and played some offline practice as engineer, tried casual and promptly got overrun by bots, then found a blackwonder 2fort server and started hanging out there for a good while. now, almost 2 years later, i have 428 hours in the game (i know, not much, but i went long periods without playing) with 90 hours on engie (those 90 hours do not count offline practice so it's probably more like 120 or smthn) who is my most played class, and have the classic uncle dane PDA skip and loadout binds and am at least a semi-competent engineer and know how to properly place and defend my buildings (all thanks to uncle dane), and am quite familiar with the game's weapons, some maps (i can name all the ones in this video), and the inner workings of all classes. and some voice lines live rent free in my head and i say them at random irl and i think sentry guns are cute. rewatching this video with the knowledge i have now, i perfectly understand everything being said and can even relate to some things! basically: thank you, youtuber HintShot, for introducing me to this wonderful and goofy game known as Team Fortress 2 created by VALVe Software in 2007. if it wasn't for this video, TF2 would not be my most favourite video game of all time ♥ edit: i also quite enjoy spy now and rewatch these videos on occasion. it's always a good time

As an Engineer, I had quite the eventful 2 fort match, since upgrading my PC I've become a better shot which allows me to defend my building better. I had a nest set up in the intel(as ya do) along with 3 other Engineer, we kept getting corner peeked which didn't last very long because they didn't expect me to actually come after them and we moved around our sentries. I think they were assuming I'd keep hammering away at my sentry while they shot at me. We even killed a spy, a demo, 2 scouts(one twice), a pyro and a non pocket medic Heavy, we ended up making it so hard for them to get our intel that the spy and another player went vac medic and Heavy and pushed their way in. They got it and won but I was proud of that game because we sure as hell didn't make it easy for them.
