It was told that in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, the “Bol-anons” (people from Bohol) came to Leyte Island to do business. One of the places they inhabited is what is now known as Hinundayan. This narrative is supported by the discovery of old relics along the riverbanks of the Lungsodaan River.
