Thanks this is helpful,but after adding to your hip measurement on the main fabric and while the lining have the normal measurement with seam allowance,let say the normal hip is 40 and you’ve added 2inch to make it 42 on the main fabric while the lining has the normal hip measurement,so are you putting the main measurement of 40(the real measurement )to both the lining and fabric,or the main fabric will be put to different measurements(42) and the lining will be put to normal hip measurement

The main fabric has the added measurement while the lining is your actual measurement The part of the foam that is curved out.. that is the right side of the foam pad will face the right side of the main fabric

Hello sorry for late reply… easiest way is to wear a fitted pant trouser, then place your tape on the side seam and measure to the center of your front thigh For the back also place your tape on the side seam and measure to the center back but stop at one inch before the center back seam. No I did not I used my exact waist measurement because I usually don’t bother about removing darts from my front pattern but you can add your darts to your pattern then close up the darts before to take your hip pad measurements.

1.What is the standard measurement of the knee line measurement from the hip? 2. What is the maximum no. of inches i can subtract from the hip measurement on my knee line?

Most women from waist to knee go by 18inches but this measurement differs with body sizes , mostly body height Maximum no is 2 inches on fold, if you do 2.5inches it might disturb your movement and make you feel uncomfortable.

This is great. But what if i just want to pad the hip? Do i just replicate the front pattern on the back too with the butt part cos the person has a lot of ass already but no hip.

Yes you can repeat the front pattern but add about 1 or 1.5 inches more to the wideness for the back side so it can blend to the back side better
