I am 63 years “young”, and the first time I scored tickets to a Pink Floyd experience was 7/4/77. To score tickets you had to go to Central Park, to the big lawn, and wait for the Pig blimp to drop “lottery” tickets. If you were lucky enough to get one you could buy up to 4 seats at Madison Square Garden. We did. I was 16. It was an amazing experience and not a concert. Thanks for your great reaction ❤️

I saw Pink Floyd live three times. also the Pulse concert in Cologne in 1994. So it's been thirty years. Nevertheless, you never forget these moments. Anyone who has ever experienced Pink Floyd live knows what perfection means. After that everything else is just music. Pink Floyd, on the other hand, is art

Right? His guitar is like a voice - as the human voice is also a musical instrument ❤ It’s not just super talent, it’s soooooo beautiful. I’ve heard this brilliant song very many times since it was new and I think you’re right about this too: this concert seems particularly epic, partly BECAUSE so many years have gone by and it has become even MORE recognised and appreciated as brilliant - the audience KNOWS they’re experiencing greatness.

I was there! This concert was the Division Bell tour of North America & Europe. When this concert was performed at Giants Stadium in New Jersey, I was there. I cannot articulate in words the feelings I had during this performance. It was like my soul was transported to a higher dimension. I recall shouting and almost crying "This cannot be real! This cannot be happening!" I'm so grateful for KZbin providing the means so that those who were not there can get a taste of this life changing experience.

Oh I have! There are plenty of people who find them dull, overblown, overrated; and who reserve particular scorn for drummer Nick Mason, saying he's stolid and unimaginative. I think they're wrong, but they're out there - and this includes people I know who otherwise have great taste in music.

I love David Gilmour's finesse on the guitar. Such smooth but restrained power seems to just float from the strings his fingers manipulate. Almost like a predator that just ate every bite of his meal and looks completely relaxed but in reality is ready for any surprise that requires an immediate response.

The beauty of Pink Floyd's music is that you can hear each instrument individually and clearly. It's not just mixing, but the architecture of the songs that allow everything to breathe properly.

These guys have captured the meaning of life and have been sharing this since long before my days. I seen them here in Belgium for the Division Bell concert... There are no words except maybe : over succeeded, musical perfection. And your listening experiences age like wine. When young it's just awesome music but as you get older, touched by life, happiness, sadness, gain & loss and all that has passed.... it becomes really super-emotional listening to them.. in an awesome way.

He has appeared as a session musician on various albums, most notably in solo parts on the Pink Floyd songs "Money", "Us and Them", "Shine On You Crazy Diamond" and "Wearing the Inside Out".[1][2] He also played on the Bloodstone album Riddle of the Sphinx.[3]

This is 30 years old, the Lightshow was the first that was computerized, anything like this had been unheard of before (and has never been pulled up ever since, at least to my knowledge). If you loved this: check out „Comfortably numb“ (best guitar solo ever played on this planet), „High hopes“ (nostalgia keeps you speechless) or „Great gig in the Sky“, which especially features the 3 backing vocal ladies! And yes, everyone who was lucky to have witnessed this in person tells his grandchildren about it…!

You need to do the entire album because each song is a page in the overall book of the album. If you listen to single songs it won’t properly tell the story. Most bands when they release an album they put 11-12 songs and none of them really relate to each other. Bands like Pink Floyd, The Moody Blues don’t do that. There’s a story and if you don’t do the whole thing you may night u deist and the context of that story.
