No it just that he wasn't necessarily a rapper that stood out to people, so when he passed, and it deeply affected people in the community it made people change their minds and give him a chance. He's a stranger in a culture and art form where he has to carve a unique image. People aren't weird, they can change and evolve over time. Before Divine Feminine he was literally a cookie cutter frat rapper, then he evolved himself. It's how Macklemore ,lil dicky fell off , and nobody cares because they are replaceable (jack Harlow replaced him). If Tyler Continued on the track of making Goblin,Bastard and Cherry Bomb; he wouldve have been another Hopsin or big Sean.

This is largely why Hip Hop is dying on the charts. You have a few rappers who make big money but the rest are struggling to make ends meet. This much was evident in the Baby Mama video that their expenses are just as high as their income and even then it's not much. This recent fiasco with Kendrick basically created a monopoly for him. Meanwhile all the white people who used to buy the albums have moved onto EDM because there's no stigma against a white person liking that. Making Hip Hop only centered on Black people has effectively driven out your major audience. This was NEVER the case for Rock where the founders were black but eventually passed on to majority white bands.

I think hip hop started in many different countries because they could relate to the old school hip hop artists and their lyrics, it still does mean something to many. But overtime mostly the big club hits were imported and created this difference in the relation to hip hop outside the US. Where i'm from, that authenticity is important to many people, but just not as much as it seems to be in the US.

He truly is the evolution of Drake (but worst because Drake is goat level and goats don't come often) Jack just needs to learn how to mesh the mainstream with bars. make the first half of the album That's What They All Say, and second half Jack. But even then he's still gonna run into the Drake issue (people won't give him credit for the rapping rapping and will label him as a melodic rapper/ R&B artist)

@@tychodancer I'm tired of people like you gatekeeping extreme lyrical miracle spiritual rappers like kendrick to be the only worthy type of rappers that are allowed to be goat rappers. Melodic rap is still rap whether you like it or not, and much more consumable than something like a To Pimp A Butterfly or Mr Morale. I respect kendrick for his excellent artistry but to be honest I barely listen to him because he's SOOOOO undigestible, I genuinely don't feel like analyzing a life changing Shakespeare level thesis book when I'm listening to music. The thing about G-Eazy is that his sequel album didn't do so well is that because it wasn't promoted enough, he beefed with his old management and there were no music videos for it, he did a deluxe version for the album including his previous releases like Still be friends, Moana and Hate the way but it wasn't enough, above all that, he went on hiatus for like 2 years because of personal issues and right now he is starting to trend after his older songs like Tumblr girls and Lady k***ers are going viral, so I will say that he will be able to make a comeback and return to his old sound that he had over the last decade

It’s definitely much easier to come off as corny as a white rapper. And with so many two-week rappers in it for a cash-grab, it makes sense why people get skeptical when the next white rapper steps up. It’s important to understand this going into it. Gaining peers respect in rap over a long period of time is nothing new, (it’s just a bit harder for the white folks.) Remember the history of the genre before you even step in it, and pay respect to those who paved the path before you. As a white rapper myself, hopefully one day soon I can prove to anyone who cares about my music that my intentions are pure. ❤
