It’s official, Coast Contra is definitely leading the pack, no one from this class Is even on the same planet. The future of hip hop really couldn’t be in better hands, if it was only Coast. Too bad, they will be resigned to carry the torch alone while simultaneously, competing with this trash for air time. We also got H. Mack that will no doubt inspire future freestylers, which should in turn bleed over to the mainstream. I really think hip hop will divide into distinct factions and the Genre will do a hard split just like Rock and Metal. People like yourself and other hip hop purist will lead the way. Hopefully diligence and passion is enough to keep lyrical MC’s alive. I pray enough is being done to inspire greatness in the next generation and make the current generation up their pen game. We will see…..

Quality from 1 artist takes too long to produce. It's easier to have a beat that knocks, then create 20 slight variations of it and give those to 20 different rappers. It all sounds the same, but it still knocks in the ears of the mainstream and they keep buying. Hip hop is beyond the age of the enthusiast . It happens to everything that gets big.

I just now realized how privileged I've been listening to artists that can write and enunciate, let alone ride a beat and switch flows and cadences. These kids are young, so I'd forgive a lacking pen game or only having a couple of cadences in their toolset, but enunciating their words isn't asking much at all. How you gonna' put emphasis on syllables down the road if you can't even enunciate? How am I supposed to even find out if you develop a pen game if I can't understand a word you're saying. It's 2022 and there's no excuse for sounding this trash with equipment so good and so cheap that rappers were paying hundreds of dollars per hour to get studio time to use not even two decades ago? I've heard dudes using micro cassette recorders playing back tapes of shit they've done that blows this shit out of the water. Oh, and that beat is whack, so I can't even ignore the lyrical content and enjoy the beat. Maybe they should just milli vanilli this shit and work on looking cool while lip syncing.

It feels like for about the last 12 years that people just don’t care about being the illest MC on the mic anymore. In the 90s people like Lil Pump and Tekashi69 would’ve never been put on. There is a rappers that can’t rap or rappers that have a rhyme scheme as easy as mother goose. When I look at the current generation, like the last decade, I think 85 or 90% of it is just no talent at all. There are exceptions, and I wish the old heads would acknowledge the rappers that can actually rap from this generation . Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle, G Perico, Joyner Lucas, Westside Boogie, Da Baby, Benny the Butcher, Westside Gunn , Conway The Machine, Hopsin, The Horseshoe Gang, and J.Cole are the exception but all those artist I just named our less than 3% of this generations artist. And outside of Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole most of them don’t get the respect or play that they deserve. Nipsey didn’t get it until he was killed.
