All of these tips are valid! The tricky aspect of making Hip Hop is that even though the production can be fairly minimalistic when compared to other genres of music, we still need to find ways to make it dynamic if we want it to be licenable.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE FEEDBACK ON MY TRACK, GUYS!!! Extremely useful, I actually completely changed the direction of the track since I submitted it for the review, so it would be interesting to have another look at it with Trevor again!

This was so interesting. There is so much that I think in my head and never say out loud. Sometimes its more subconscious. You guys said all these things out loud. Thanks for sharing!

Wow...what a good review! At first I thought the track was great as is, but then everyone's breakdown gave it so much more direction and applicability for the sync world. I could imagine that version can be kept if the producer's going for an artist path, but then the revised version utilized for licensing opps. The "lyrics/vox vs. music" point was very insightful - digs into the brain. Btw, your videos are legitimately awesome, Jesse!

This is a common issue with just about any modern music using loops and having no dynamics.

It's hard for artists too----it's hard to get a producer to change these things; you have to almost (as an artists) learn how to do beats yourself; and this combination of amazing producer and amazing artists is rare (in my opinion)

Too me, the 1st track is too much rap for sync. The track isn't breathing, not dramatic enough. Its a great track although!!

Hmmm, I wonder what kind of review this panel would have given a classic RZA produced track for the Wu

@@DDermz that’s largely due to the star power of the tracks imo. Im no expert but I doubt those songs would be used (especially in today’s age) if these songs weren’t already popular beforehand
