I started bike riding last summer and my hips started hurting. Eventually my lower back started hurting enough to go to the doctor. I went to physical therapy and did the exercises you showed, and more. It helped both back and hips. I started bike riding this spring and the hips are sore again! From your video know I have bursitis. Thanks for this video as a reminder I DO need to start the exercises and TRY to quit being a sider sleeper.

Perfect timing for me. I was at the doctor on friday because of pain in my right hip. The x-ray indicates moderate to severe digenerative OA. Also, bursitis comes and goes. The exercises are exactly what the physical therapist recommended. Questions - the heating pad you recommended doesn't appear in your amazon store. Could you give me the brand and model of the pad you are recommending? Thanks for your great videos. At 63 years old I seem to have one challenge after another, your videos have been a great help in dealing with many of them.

I was always seeing for sciatica to keep moving and exercising it. Two weeks ago I went to doctor and she told me to stop all exercising of that area for two weeks. I still felt pain and she sent me to get x rays, about 8 of them. She said I had a bone spur on my spine, arthritis on my hip and slight misalignment of the spine. She told me to continue to rest, meaning no exercising. I showed her my massage gun, rolling massager, and acu pressure pillow i put under my hips. She told me to cut it all out ( only on the injured area, it feels good under my feet and especially my calves) because all of that was pressing on the injury. I went to emergency room today, they gave me 2 steroid injections-i feel like me again, also prescribed a couple of days of pain medication and 5 days muscle relaxers- i think the muscle relaxers will be the main help. I could not take anymore over the counter tylenol, last night I threw it all up. Several months ago too much ibuprofen over counter thinned my blood and I had to go to get three blood transfusions. The doctor, two weeks ago and now is still telling me to rest. She says no physical therapy because they will exercise the area she wants me to rest. The nurse practitioner today said she really does think this injury came from when I did those 6 rollerdisco videos all in one row, not from falling in Dec2020. When you do have Sciatica or piriformous, when do you exercise it or go to physical therapy and when do you rest it? I have no pain going down my leg at all. Everyone ask me that.

I tore my labrum in my left hip and thats no joke. I've had surgery but it took over 8 months to get approved. 3 anchors ended up being 1 bec there want much labrum left. Now I have a capsular defect and it's horrible. I have deep groin pain and in my left buttocks. Clicking, popping and pain with standing. I cannot put weight on my left leg alone. I now have a limp and my foot turns in.

I have dealt with sciatica all my life, since the age of 15, (I am now 73) it can also feel like a hip problem. Also, I recently learned about the role of the iliotibial band (IT Band) from a pilates instructor. That has helped me to deal with some of the bursa related discomfort. Could you talk About that in another video?

You didn't mention the third cause for hip pain. My doctor says that in my case it's a nerve. I can't even lay down, I've been sleeping sitting on the armchair for more than a year now. The first few months I was unable to walk at all, then used a walking stick, now I can walk normally with the help of painkillers and I'm even able to dance (but still can't do repetitive movements like cycling). I would love to go back to my bed... I'll try your exercise, finger crossed!

I don’t have hip pain when walking or going on stairs but they both really hurt when I am laying on my back or reclining. Very achy. If I stand and take the weight off one foot the hip with the dangling leg will hurt, too. I’m not sure if that lines up with arthritis or bursitis.

so....it would appear that if you can weight bear with no pain than its NOT bursitis and most likely arthritis? The issue I have is that I can walk with little or not pain, but eventually it becomes stiff and sore when bending or having to lift my knee.....for example, getting into my car...sometimes can. be extremely painful....anybody care to offer some advice or diagnose the possible issue this is?? Thanx!

I had severe pain that was aggressively progressive. When I exercised and went to my PT (per Dr orders) it kept getting worse. I had no swelling or other symptoms except the crippling pain. I was also having cardiac issues and my cardiologist attempted a groin entry for a heart Cath. But could not find a pulse in my foot. A severe clog was found in branch area of the Iliac artery. The severe pain was claudication. After the stents the circulation was normal. This was a life changIng thing. But now these exercises are good to rebuild strength. I do still have a little arthritic change.

I have same thing, took steroids, etc, it won’t go away, nothing helps. You have to go to a pain management doc and get shots into the area. This is done on an operating table as outpatient, not in a dr’s office. Or you get a hip replacement. That’s what they’re telling me.

My hip is now unfortunately bone on bone per the CAT scan.. waiting for a hip replacement when the epidemic lets me slide in and get it done without fear but I also have arthritis on top of it.. ugh.. do you think these exercises will help since it is bone on bone? Also, it actually feels better when I lay on the bad hip, is that going to do any damage since I have to get it replaced anyway?
