* Hip Reels * ~ Single Hoop Tutorial

Part 1 of a 3 Hip Reel Tutorial Videos! This video will go over some basics regarding hip reels using a single hoop! We will start with how to go from a forwards weave to a pinky led hip reel and a backwards weave to a thumb led hip reel. Then we will take a few steps back near the end of the video to go over how to first begin learning to do a hip real from a static position, without involving an introductory forwards/backwards weave. And one more request, could you do the double hoops split knee and waist, please? I can do chest-waist split but now I have been struggling to split them on my waist and knees.

Nok Nangtongsai yes! Part 2 and 3 are up on my page. Part 2 is a single hoop hip reel turn and part 3 is a double hoop turning hip reel :) splitting the hoops between you knees and waist is not something I've perfected either! But I'm currently working on it! My suggestion is to drill dropping one hoop from your waist to hip and back up to you're waist over and over and over until it is second nature and then add the second hoop and drill drill some more! That's what I'm in the process of doing and it's been helping a lot!

What kind of hoops are you using? I am attempting to do double hooping but my hoops are too small for my likeing

Shelby Zmijewski these are 29" OD polypro hoops. Anything from 25"-30" is my suggestions for learning doubles :)

yikes is this the best tutorial there is for this move? this is not working for me at all. It looks like your flicking the hoop up in the back and not lifting it? at what position do you bring it across your body? Is the hoop supposed to spin in the opposite direction when you put it on your thumb?
