Every western commentator in the review of this song "hey, why don't the audience express emotions, don't jumping and dancing?" And because these are cultured intelligent spectators, they came to listen to music, and not to a disco. That's how music should be listened to. I present comments on the audience in Mozart's time - "hey, why don't the audience express emotions, don't jump and dance?😂In fact, when Western listeners jump in the studio, they look like a fool.

how were they banned when my parents living in Baltics listened to their music in their youth? Stop spreading anti-soviet propaganda, maybe they weren't invited to state tv on daily basis because they were a bit too punk but they weren't banned, same way today ppl like Shnurov aren't invited to perform on state tv because of swearwords but they get thousands of ppl and perform near Kremlin anyways and sell millions of reconds.Same way this band was well known to my parent generation.

i wouldnt say they look sad... more longingly, melancholically, at least thats what i feel in this song... first i fell in love with the music, then with the sound of the language, then with the lyrics. Now I can sing along and understand it and have had a sore throat and hoarse voice for two weeks. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYjTZJWgnNWjnqc&start_radio=1 need to make a point on my admiration for the singer. never reach the higher longer tones xD and i'm a girl lol trying to learn russian has pitched my voice some tones deeper a year ago or so lol but i find the pronunciation and the accent much easier than good sounding english. I think it's because the sounds are closer to my native language, German 😹😹 what i want to say: this song is now one of my absolute favorite songs and i am so grateful to be able to live in a time in which i have so many opportunities to experience so many different times, cultures, art, music, literature. As cruel as humanity is, the things that some people create can be just as magical. (Just as magically, I'll always think of Malfoy when I hear that song from now on... 😹😹👍)

This actually was a some sort of a festival, where several bands played 1-2 songs and were done for today (to be precise there were around 20 bands). So first couple rows of seats were taken by musicians, hence the outfits and generally more alive attitude and reaction to the music. The rest of the crowd were normal USSR people, and back then it was considered bad if you show too much emotions. So most of them didn't show emotions at all, but instead they were thinking about what is being sung by the singer. This particular song has timeless lyrics, they were actual 30 years ago, they are actual now, they will be in another 30 years, at least for native speakers.

@@hippiereacts1458 People who lived at that time in the Soviet Union were brought up not to consume, but to delve into the essence. The song touches the delicate strings of the souls of these people, each of them thinks about his own. There were discos, concerts and dance events for fun. The fact that some people are a little sad is not a bad thing, but speaks of what they are going through. I recommend watching various documentary videos of the Soviet era, starting with the horrors of the Great Patriotic War (WW2), in which the Soviet people suffered the most, and up to the 80s. During this period, great discoveries and great achievements were made in that country. In the land of the Soviets (especially at first), they tried to minimize the difference in the standard of living of people as much as possible, so that everyone lived, even if not very rich, but in abundance. There were no billionaires and beggars like now all over the world. This all influenced people who were born and raised in that socialist, cultural environment. All the best!

Re: the audience. Having lived in Russia, Russians aren't as expressive (at least immediately, or to strangers) as we might expect from Brits or Americans. Also, it's worth remembering that this is in difficult times - two years before the fall of the Berlin Wall and four years before the Soviet Union collapsed. Times weren't great. Finally, it's not "happy" music; the words are melancholic, longing. While some of the audience may be indifferent, I'd imagine for most of them the song spoke to and resonated with them.

Greetings from the former USSR, bro! People in the hall are sitting with their gloomy faces there, because in the Soviet Union it was very discouraged to show any kind of emotion. It was punishable. Since every Soviet person had to be unshakable and resistant to Western culture) Nonsense? Well, of course) Fucking Soviet policy ...
