You should never feel bad for using time for yourself to get inspiration, it's art and labour, not just labour. It's always a very inspiring and amazing treat whenever there's a new post. Can't wait to see the finished build! As a clipnote, use the word thematic all you damn well want. Make a whole video with it. On a side note reminder, water rides also need to loop! Seems like it might be difficult to fit with the current placement.

Looking great so far! I like the viewing dome at the top of the cliff, that should look amazing when it's finished! A couple of tips that might help: I found when building a river in my zoo, it helped to block off different segments of the river with glass barriers. Then all I had to do was hide the glass barrier with a log, or some rapids, or some rocks... And that ensured that that section of river remained intact while I worked on the next section of river. So then if you mess up your river you only mess up the segment you're currently working on, and not the whole thing. (Though I didn't have a boat tour in mine so I don't know how that would work...) Another thing you might want to look at regarding the pointy directional signs (the New World signs on the poles). There are signs that mount on poles in the Indian collection that are made out of wood. If I remember rightly, there are two of them. I don't think they're re-colorable, and I don't know if they fit with what you're going for, but I wanted to at least make sure you were aware of them. Also, I love your artistic design and inspiration for the build. Stunning. And these hippos are gonna have some impressive legs after trekking up and down that hill all day, haha

OH! I've had an idea after you mentioned building a village, you could definitely do something with Hyenas involving a village, since there's a city in Ethiopia called Harar that has become famous for feeding wild hyenas that visit the city.

I think for the village idea it would be cool to have an animal like the mandrill or chimpanzee so they could run around on the roof tops and climb all over the buildings. And their feeders could be in the town market so it looks like they’re eating the vendors food

Adventure hole under the dome would be very nice and the entrance is at the giraffe path so u could build a bridge. U can add a viewing point under water in this hole

An idea for the top of the mountain You could have many small streams of water coming from the middle of the dome like veins that lead to mini water falls on the side of the mountain and things, ya know?

There's a movie, based on a true story, called "the ghost and the darkness" it's about two male lions that are man eaters that terrorize a camp of workers trying to build a bridge over a river. I suggest watching the movie if you need inspiration for the lion enclosure, making an abandoned camp with two lions prowling around would be epic

Aardvark!! I just built a huge come walk through with aardvark! They are notorious for visiting villages at night. Otherwise you could do hyena, they scavenge from villages when they can but it wouldn't be walk through 😂

About having a boat ride go thru an exhibit. You could make a glass barrier and sink it to water level. The ride would technically be outside the exhibit but would look like it was in the same body of water and the animals shouldn't be able to escape.

I speak Dutch and Afrikaans actually started as a Dutch dialect. If you roughly translate the Afrikaans word for hippo, it means water cow or sea cow. Afrikaans words are often basically like a little description.

I think the area by the giraffes viewing on the other side of the river could be an enclosure only seen from that side. It'll draw people down to that area, but you won't need to connect it all up apart from staff. It'll save you wasting that whole area. Also for the back of the mountain, most zoo would still use brick walls etc if it's man made, you should clad it all but then decorate it with vines to semi hide it but making it clear it's man made.

Just a quick tip as a South African. The "se" is prononounced as a short "seh", like in 'upSEt'. It's a bit of a shorter sound. Also sounds like the vowel sound in "sip" :) It's not like "see", like you said here :) Otherwise you're doing a pretty good job!
