The thing is, it's due to romanization, there are many to romanize, but the pronunciation remains the same, like there's a Japanese streamer named ういきち, which is romanized as "uikiti" since ち(chi) is in the "t" section of Hiragana, but it will always be pronounced as "chi", so I always romanize words to their exact pronunciation.

っ(smaller version of つ[tsu] extends the consonant sound after it.

If you say かここいい you are saying kaKOKOii. So that's why they use the small tsu (っ).
