After having listened to various of Hirasawa's best albums I'm convinced the guy's a gift to humanity, really. A true light being from a distant place showing us how his beautiful home is. I strongly believe these feelings he conveys through his music can actually become our future, hopefully. A world where science and spirituality coexist and work together to propel us into a new light era. I'm just, grateful to be alive in this time period along with him, he has shared many beautiful gifts with the world...

Her kimono has cranes on it because cranes are said to have a life span of 1000 years in Japanese lore. Also her name literally means 'Millennium Child'... And her surname Fujiwara is 1000 years old, dating to the Fujiwara clan of the Heian period (794 - 1185).

Whenever I listen to Susumu's music, I feel like the music is something that I listened to a long time ago, but don't remember when. I feel nostalgic and I don't even remember anything that sounds close to his music. I feel sad and happy at the same time. I feel like my soul is leaving my body. And I feel like I'm getting kissed by an Angel and a Demon at the same time. His music is made up of human emotions.

It's sad. Sometimes music like this seems to enter my whole body, mind and soul for days, sometimes even weeks. I can't describe the feeling, but it's like i'm happy and sad at the same time, aching for something i have forgotten or will never have in my life, and i don't know what it is. At the same time my heart feels heavy and light at the same time and i'm always trying to show people this experience or share my feelings with them. I show them the movie and the song before and after it, but they never seem to get it. I wish i had a person in my life who would feel the same. Feeling enlighted and crushed down at the same time, and yet it's so wonderful to be able to feel this... i'm sorry if there might be any spelling mistakes.

Finally. I spent years wondering what this movie was. Trying to return to that distant memory, a decade past, when I saw this mystical scene with this woman running through different eras and times. The cosmos conspired to have me leave before I could learn anything about what I beheld. Thank you Berserk for being great of course but also for leading me to Hirasawa. Thank you Hirasawa for befriending Satoshi Kon. Thank you Mr. Kon for finding me when I was unable to find you. I didn't make it in time to say good bye, and I'm sorry. But if there's one thing I've learned from you, it's that meetings and partings are cyclical. I'll keep looking for you, because I've fallen in love with the search, because I know you'll always be there, just around the corner. Yours Truly, R / H

I, this was a sensory overload for me. This song made me look so far back into my life and I can say I genuinely cried, like bawling my eyes out over how beautiful the things I saw and did and how I felt and sensed. For a long time looking so far back was so hard. When the song was over I couldn't believe that something like that could get me, just one song. this piece is so transcendent. I wish I could live a life of as much boundless motivation, creative passion, and striving past all suffering as Chiyoko did. to me, that simple purity must be what it means to be alive. staring up at the moon, wanting to recapture your memory of it, to see it within a painting again, only to realize your striving towards it, your relentless forward motion through time and space, through imagined memory, brought you even farther--to walking on the moon yourself. going even further because what you love isn't the destination, its the journey. I don't think I can ever be like that ideal myself, but I know people who are. they are the treasures of this broken reality of ours. I want to treasure them and love them forever.

I discovered Susumu Hirasawa because of Paprika. The soundtrack of that movie was just... incredible. So I searched all the songs and they were of this guy, who also composed the soundtrack of another Satoshi Kon's movies. And listening all the songs of Susumu one by one, I run into this one, and WOW. I don't have words to describe it... the vibe, the effects, the voice is omg, this song is one of my favourites. Also, Susume is very versatile. All his songs are different, each one remind me of something different. Susumu takes music in a whole different level. It doesn't have even complicated sequences of chords, it's the effects, how he plays with the sounds... I think that Susumu has a clear idea of what to transmit in any song, and compose it and make it with the right effects is an not very common ability.

I saw Millennium Actress for the first time last year, knowing nothing about it other than the short tv description and was instantly hooked. The montage this score is used over, when Chiyoko is running through different eras, is my favourite scene and the music makes it perfect. It still sometimes pops into my head randomly and I love it all the more.

Susumu Hirasawa's versatility based on his music is astonishing to witness. Once you hear another song from him or something else he composed, it's always attaining a different flow and vibe that ring's distinctively than the last piece of music he composed/sung.

I found this movie at the beggining of the year, I haven't been able to watch it but this sung stuck with me Now it's November 17th of 2017, and this song still gives me the same feelings it makes me feel liberated. It reminds me of how young I am, at the age of 16. I'm still just a young girl, and I hope I always remain with the soul of a young girl. Thank you, Satoshi Kon, for teaching me that my soul doesn't have to age with my body. And thank you, over all, for teaching me that the best part of dreams is not achieving them, but chasing after them. I hope you're having a good afterlife, if there is one. Virtual Vow to you, all the way from my corner of the world.
