I see people in the comments complaining about how those virtual interviews are terrible , unnatural and unfair. That might be true in some way, but the reality is that those interviews are part of the modern recruitment process and we cannot ignore it. Whether we want it or not , we have to adapt to all these innovations. And to be honest, I better be prepared and “unnatural” with the help of this kind of videos than lose a good opportunity. You can absolutely can ignore them. I’ve done so... next day after ignoring the request to call a phone line to record my answers, I received a call from a human at a different company. Best believe they took priority. And I landed the job. It’s no surprise people defend these practices. It’s an industry that generates a lot of money... but there have been failures in tech. This will come and go.

It was good and valuable information. I wanted to download the questions and found out they cost $4.99. Okay, $4.99 is worth it but then it wouldn't let me complete my purchase without forcing me to also purchase "21 GREAT ANSWERS to Tough Interview Questions" ($4.99) and "Richard's Management Skills Masterclass" ($27.99) by claiming I had 'invalid or missing payment token fields.' I was a big fan until this sleight-of-hand. Thank you for what I have learned. No thank you to the sneaky upsell.

Great video! I passed the PwC hirevue three weeks ago, did the AC the following week and got the call two days ago saying I'd got the internship that I'd applied for! Thanks a lot for the great model answers, however I would recommend to applicants that these shouldn't be regurgitated directly and should definitely be tailored to who you are and often hirevue questions wont have enough response time to answer the questions in as much depth as these answers.

Dear Cynthia, I have had my Hire Vue interview just last week, and I found the questions are the same. I think the Hire Vue questions are the same for all companies, differ only in the formulation of the question.

Outstanding video! I am very impressed, I can tell the level of communication skills, problem solving skills and in such a professional manner. But unfortunately I’m not. Such answers like these will be difficult to pull off. Given the time limit in HireVue to answer. I’m trying to find a way to provide a proper answer with out my anxiety kicking in. Any advice will help. Even though, this video did have very impressive answers.

Mind you, most of the time, those elaborate comments to those questions are more for really big positions like accountants, lawyers, and actuaries where they have plenty of time to study the company,, questions,, etc.. Most of the human population can't pull off something like this off the top of their head. Stick to being honest, truthful and relevant to the job you apply for. Think of your interview as an older sibling to reduce anxiety and know the worst they can say is "no". On top of these, be proffessional and don't studder or use additives too much. For example: um, well, so, like.

Hi Richard, Thanks for sharing your interview tips in this video. It gives us good insights into the areas we need to research and prepare for the interview. I have also tended to do my video conferencing sessions from my desk top. As you have highlighted, my video camera is located at the top of my screen and so it often tends to record me with my eyes looking down towards my screen. This has been very helpful, in terms of preparation. However, the only thing that I would argue it that the best way to answer certain video interview questions, isn't quite universal. Yes, we can take into account of what you said, and use our own personal experience to strengthen our response. I am not bashing what you are teaching. If it sounds like that, I am sorry. You have done a remarkable job in teaching the viewers of what to expect. I'm just stating by bringing up personal moments in one's work history, may make a stronger response, than a universal one.

I think what I don't like about this is it makes me feel like you don't have to just be skilled in what you want to do for work you also have to be skilled in taking interviews. It also doesn't seem fair for introverts or for highly introverted people. I feel like there needs to be apps or websites where you can list your job interests and skills where jobs can find people instead of people looking for jobs.
