"Kata"performance is one thing, understanding kata s wealth of knowledge is another. Yes, you have to learn how to perform katas correctly, however that's just the start. You need to study them and work with a good partner, learn how to interpret the real practical applications that really work. Once. You understand the principles, concepts, codified positions, human anatomy and structure, you will indeed see what perhaps you can't see today. To me knowing 35+ kata s without knowing what your really doing, is just exercise not real martial art.

Either this version has high round kicks or this guy can't perform a side kick.

+Matt Mosley He was doing a side snap kick. It is more of hitting with the blade of the foot, going to the throat or armpits. With the knee doing a snap up instead of a side thrust kick.
