RIP, I loved his style when I fought Kyokushin competitively late 80s and early 90s. Despite not winning any world championships but he was a hero for most of us. I was very saddened with news of him passing away.

​@@sleepete12 kyokushin, like any art, is incomplete when practiced on its own. I've seen Thai boxers get wrecked by grapplers. Cross training is essential to become a well rounded fighter. That being said, Kyokushin has produced some really tough fighters. Bas Rutten, GSP, and Andy Hug came from a kyokushin background and became top class MMA fighters and kickboxers.

@@sleepete12 the best MMA fighters are karatekas , even karatekas from shotakan and other karate stills like machida brothers sami shild , andy hug and so on , a muay thai fighter has no chance against karatkas

@@manuchehrkarate the best mma fighters are those with strong backgrounds in wrestling, sambo and bjj. karate while having some very strong and impressive fighters. it hasn’t had many to high level ones on the same line as other martial arts. i think it’s too lacking in some aspects that makes it hard for them to transfer over

Regardless of never really won any major titles/tournament,Kurosawa is my all time favorite Kyokushin fighter. Tsukamoto Norichiga is also another interesting one to cover since imo he’s the one who pioneered those new breeds of fighters with his tricky kicks&footwork.

you, know it a pity that Kyokushin is not more well known. It is a superior martial art for sure. I am a BJJ BB and love to watch these guys. All the fanboys rattle on about Bruce Lee, he wouldn't have lasted a minute with these guys.

@@sleepete12 Kyokushin fighters actually had a really good track record against Thai boxers. Thats literally the method Mas Oyama used to test them because he knew how good Muay Thai was.

Hard styles=lower longevity...I could tell he sacrificed his speed from his youth and turned it into raw power (slower). Many powerful strikers who also bulked up to levels beyond their physique tend to suffer ill health later in life...shame...RIP

黒澤の極真での功績は輝かしいものがありますけど、その輝かし功績に自ら泥を塗る結果となったのがK1参戦でした。 まったく強さを発揮できずに顔面パンチでノックアウトされてしまいましたよね。　 黒澤の強さは、あくまでも顔面パンチなしという格闘技としてあり得ない状況において強いだけです。

copypasted from some karate website: For the next couple of years, Kurosawa ran his dojo in Tokyo. However, in 2016 he had to have another knee operation. The operation was a failure, and while recovering he developed high blood pressure and a weakened heart, from which you never fully recovered. On 25 March 2017, Hiroki Kurosawa died from acute heart failure. He was only 54 years old. At his family’s request, he was cremated in a small private summer ceremony.

Karates uses all body weapons. kicks, punch, knees, fingers and elbows not just muay thai. Just the rules that arent allow them to. Muay thai is not a style. The real style is muay boran. Muay thai is the name of the sport like American kickboxing for example but with different rules. Any fighters with any different styles will fight the same inside the ring. If you talk about street fight, then its probably different.

With all respect, the technique is more Thai boxing than Karate. Ik you look good, he won alsmost all the fights with a law kick in the leg of his opponant. He stays of course a great fighter!
