Ex: Drivers who fail to stop at a red light in Oman can now be jailed for up to one year, according to the Royal Oman Police. Violations can also be punished with a OMR 500 = (රුපියල් 240000 ) fine. Either or both of the penalties can be issued to drivers.
Really good idea. But in Peliyagoda 8 lanes has to merge into 2. This doesn't work in situations like that. This was chaos. Normally to cross the bridge it takes 7 minutes and it was 30 minutes today. We leave home at 6AM to drop the kids to school from Gampaha to Colombo. Normally we would drop them at 7.00AM and it was 7.40AM today.

Your kids should be going to school in Gampaha, if not they should be in the school boarding

All the develop country they follow the line. They are not against for this also not blaming. Every one has to start early to go to work depend how far. No one can blame to government.. we must obey to law.. in this way many lives will be in safe.. ..accident will be less. I know that practically..

Yes, all western countries follow this rule. Very successful
We need a discipline country. Not run by mafia. Please obey the traffic rules.

Will Parliament Members and officers attached to forces adhere to this rule. We are on watch
Before implementing, the lanes should be marked properly. Ex. A vehicle coming from Nawala Road has to go to Cotta Road. Have to change 3 lanes. At which point is he allowed to change lanes?

See all the negative comments are from indisciplined sectors i.e motor bikes , three wheelers and buses. This it self shows this is a very good move. You cannot see the results overnight but wait for two three days This rule is practiced in all developed nations. Not only traffic issues , road accidents also can be minimized.
This Lane rule concept is great. We should follow rule of roads. Three wheelers and motobikers should go for classes.

Having a drivers license is not a privilege. Every body has to obey traffic rules. It prevents accidents and save human life.
@rathnakumara994 жыл бұрын
Three Wheelers drivers, motor cyclists and private buses are crazy on the roads, not obeying road rules at all and they are the main problem for traffic James, road traffic accidents and they must be disciplined to be good drivers.

Good decision, but the lane discipline should continue
Ratawal wala neethiya kriyathmaka karanna.niyama widihata camera sawikalotha hari.ea witharak nemey loke dadayak niyama karanna.exident wena ayata black point deela license eka ath hituwanna one.
Don't allow the bus drivers to stall and wait at bus stops to pick up passengers, and some busses create their own lane at the bus halt. And stern action should be taken against motorcyclists who crawl in between spaces and create traffic, and that's not all, let the color lights operate independently, the Police handling traffic only worsens the situation.

.....we support these efforts..BUT today it was an utter mess. From Kohuwala to Havloc Road a massive traffic jam....PLEASE DO IT RIGHT. Most. It was SOOOOO frustrating and most of us got late to our working places. Hope they are not doing these seemingly unplanned things to make this government VERY UNPOPULAR,....TODAY THEY ACHIEVED IT....Over and above
Those days there were no this much of transportation. Today there are private buses trishaws vans etc. But taking more time than those days. Why? Because too many vehicles and there are not enough wide roads and traffic laws. Law is different to rich and poor. If you go to the courts you can see all poor fellows are punished for silly mistakes. The enforcing people will never ask the Police why only these poor people. What about the rich? All of them are perfect. There are nearly 5 lakh of trishaws in the western province. Why because of unemployment. All these governments did not have a proper plan to give employment. At least now restrict vehicles entering into the city. But I don't think rich and high class people will never agree to this.Again you can only restrict the poor people. God only knows the solution.

when was the last time those pundits thought about the population growth? this city wasn't a well planned with a vision and a good look into the future. forcing the ever growing population into the same old two lane road system never going to work out , how ever much the dashbandu guy's media circus trying to convince . at least some 50 to 75 years a go, enough room for another two lanes and the side walk to each side, should have been left for expansion before those buildings came up. now being too late, like one super frustrated (essentially & naturally) gentleman in this clip said, overhead or under ground expansion of the road system is an imperative undertaking before it is too late for that unless, they want to bring down those road side buildings.
