Due to no lack of content, I recently started with a bunch of reputation stuff, including Insane in the membrane and Tol Barad (because budget spectral mount yay) - to my surprise, the PvP event there was alive and well, everyday when I got there around 10 people in total participated, it is still fun :D

I feel like you missed "Getting Around with the Shado-Pan". It requires you to complete 15 dailys (3 days worth) with 9 different characters. But they may not be up each day as the dailies for them rotate. The miminum amount of time it takes is 27 days, but could be a lot longer.

I've been lacking one NPC--I have long since forgotten which one--for the Have we met? achievement since Cata. For a while, I used to log on just to see if I could complete the achievement, but I gave up after a few months. Good choice for the number 1 spot on the list.

If you are hunting for the achievement "Have... Have We Met?" you should try joining discord channels dedicated for achievement hunting. Some of those servers still have people trying to do the achievement and they announce if they got a related NPC.

About that Tol Barad part, you can partially cheese it. If you turn war more off, do the quests and return with war mode on, some of the quests will change making the waiting lot less frustrating. Also victory on Tol Barad is also separated in War mode on / off. That means that if one faction doesnt hold Tol Barad on War mode on, maybe it does on War mode off. Also also, if someone needs help with "Have...Have we met?" achievement, there is WoW Achievements discord where people often posts which NPC they got. I had massive problems with that achiev and I completed it after 2 weeks or so by just looking at that discord.

One achievement also worth mentioning is "Over their Heads" from MoP, which for me was worse even than Champion of Chi-Ji (while tedious, I could at least make some progress each day it was available). The achievement involves finding 15 named enemies while on a quest that has a 50% chance to be available each day, and only 3 of those enemies can appear on any given day. You can keep the quest unfinished to check more often, but there's no way around the RNG of what enemies are up each day. It is so much worse than the numbers make it sound. I checked for months, and the majority of that time I only needed one last NPC. This was not an uncommon situation. The worst part is that because it's a slow-moving vehicle quest, it takes like 5 minutes to check each spawn location, every day.

Holy shit... The memories... the memories... I did many of these achievements in Late Cataclysm and some of them I didn’t complete till early WoD. I did “Veteran of the Molten Front” because I wanted the Mount and Title, I also did “Have... Have we met?” And it was a pain, and I’m not sure I even completed the Tol Barad one, I think I did, as I bought the Spirit Horse and intended to buy the Drake but got tired halfway and left, forever.

The delivery daily in Korthia where you have to drop anima and supplies while riding a gargoyle. Some of the drop zones are impossible to land supplies in and the devs haven’t fixed it since release.

I still remember flying over and over just to wave at them. Got mine back in 2011. Also, you missed the "The 'Unbeatable?' Pterodactyl: BEATEN." : Complete the Vigilance on Wings daily quest in Mount Hyjal 10 times. This quest is from Hyjal and is a pain in the ass because not only is tedious, but the movement is clunkly AF.

It took me years to get Have... have we met? It was the only achievement missing from the meta achievement, and I was only missing Mankrik. At the time I didnt know who Mankrik was, and didn't realize he was horde only, so I was getting really frustrated that he wasn't showing up for me.

Aqua Team Murder Force, the worst daily quest achievement for me when I was on way to Undersea Usurper. Each day you can pick 1 out of 3 followers and level him up by 1 level. To level him up, you need to complete three dailies and sometimes they are really annoying. The achievement requires to have all 3 followers to max level (30). So it takes 90 days to complete this achievement.

I feel like the Achievement "Free for All, All for me" is super annoying in Legion. You have to wait like 6 hours for 1 of the 4 different World PvP Quests to spawn and depending on your time zone one of the quests might spawn in the 12 am to 6 am timeframe. and you have to complete each of the quests 10 times!

I got that last one using a free alt account I got for going to see the Warcraft movie. Back when it came out, if you went to specific movie theaters, they would give you a free 30 day game time card, which was NOT usable on an existing account, It had to be a new account. So I made a new account, used the card and lvled a horde toon so that I could get several achives that required horde characters to obtain, this was one of them. This was also back when server hopping was a thing, and EACH server had their own set of followers spawned for that day, so I just flew both of my characters to a spot away from any mobs, server hopped on the horde until I had mankrik, then server hopped on my main to the same server so I could get the achive. I also used this account to get wintergrasp BG achives since nobody actually does wintergrasp anymore. I hopped in a turret on my main and rode my low lvl horde to the tower my main was in and just gunned myself down repeatedly until I had 100 turret kills achive, which was the only one I was missing outside of winning the BG 100 times.

The what bastion remembered achievement torments me. You have to play rng the world quest (things remembered) is up. Then rng that the memories are from an npc and not just no dialogue, then rng it's the npc you need for the achievement. I'm still missing 2 after months of checking.

As a late joiner who still has to venture into the Shadowlands, these achievements saved my life. When the Battle for Azeroth grinds became insane (7th legion medals, seafarer dubloons), instead of getting bored and start making alts or just announcing my forever departure from WoW on the forums, I doubled the stakes and now I'm hunting every achievement and collectibles I can in order of expansion: bloody rare, frostbitten, the exploration ones, Mr. Pinchy, some toys from npcs, the time-lost proto drake. From pandaria onwards there's a lot to do and I'm having much more fun because each time I earn an achievement I have a sense of progression, unlike doing the same world quest over and over in the same zones for some curriencies. I do understand now why BFA finally got people tired lol. When I have done the most I can up to BFA I'll eventually do all BFA grinds too.

Ahhh those cataclysm achievements! 'Veteran of the Molten Front' was my first major achievement in World of Warcraft! I had only just started playing during 4.2 and getting that Flamebreaker title took me two months! I still look back on it fondly. What a tedious time, but I'm still happy I got it. :D Thanks for reminding me of those times!

Upright Citizen in Tiragarde Sound. RNG within RNG within RNG. First there has to be a Tiragarde Sound assault on. Then the required world quest has to be up. And on top of that the specific one out of three NPCs has to be active.

They've probably already been mentioned, but there are a couple world quests associated with achievements in BFA that are highly RNG-dependant and very frustrating, taking months - Sabertron Assemble in Stormsong Valley (you have to kill all 5 colour variants of the Sabertron mechanocat, each colour variant has its own unique quest ID, so you have to get lucky and have both the world quest spawn and it be a colour you need for the achievement), and Upright Citizens in Tiragarde Sound (you need to recruit each of 3 famous NPCs during the quest Not Too Sober Citizens Brigade, which has a chance to spawn during an assault on Tiragarde Sound, and it's random which of the 3 NPCs is available to be recruited).

I am curious if those quest were continued after WotLK and if it's even worth talking how some were hard, some were easy and if was it even worth it in the end.

I'm one of those sadists that actually loves achievements like these. Achievements that are rewards for going "above and beyond" to get them have more value to me than the "[blank] woz 'ere" achievements. However, the "rarity" to these quests being completed is actually the second reason I like them, the main reason is that I am very unlikely to have completed most of them when they were relevant _because_ completing them during the patch period was so tough/unlikely (also, not mandatory), which results in me having something to do during content droughts. Just a shame that level 60 players are inherently and unavoidably overpowered. Would love for Chromie Time to lock me to level 50 (even after levelling to 60) so most of these weren't mindnumbing face-rolls.

I do understand why RNG annoys people though. Not everyone wants to return to older content. Wanting to complete a 9.0 achievement during 9.0 isn't an out-of-the-question goal for a player, but I wouldn't call it "bad" design. "Bad" design is when an achievement gets broken from advancing development, like the 9.0 achievement 'Who sent you?' during 9.1. Could not be completed by characters that had advanced to Korthia. While I personally take no issue with not completing achievements during their relevant patch(es), that's usually because of a decision I've made. Not realising that an achievement gets broken by future content isn't really on the player though, it's on developers and testers (regardless of how they are sourced). It's good to know that they won't be broken forever, it's not good to know that it's an afterthought. _That_ is bad design.

Ah yes, have we met being the number 1. It isn't a surprise at all, it is the proof it is a badly designed achievement. I was playing at that time and the area was filled with players so it wasn't a problem but Blizzard didn't think far ahead when the zone would be deserted. A very easy solution to this issue is to replace the 2 factions NPCs by others and there you go.

I clicked on this video specifically thinking about the "Have we met" PoS achievement, not surprised it's at the very top of the list, as a hardcore achievement collector I've farmed the one npc Im STILL missing (the one that can only spawn on the opposite faction) for YEARS, on and off, but for months at a time, having to log with a secondary account to get the daily with an opposite faction character, until I finally realized wasting my life on that bs wasn't worth it, things like these make me super glad I ditched the game a year ago. RNG in WoW is absurd.

I am not sure that Mechagon npc are RNG, they probably have a rotation. Because you can meet all npcs in few weeks (maybe month) IF you will check the island every day (and you will anyway if you doing meta-achievement). Same with the weapon-daily quest. Btw, if some dailies have a chance of not appearing "today", then world quests might also be in this category. Then the achievement "Free For All, More For Me" will be the most terrible of all. It requires you to complete 4 different world quests 20 times each - 80 in total. 80, Carl!

The principle of daily quest is really bad in MMO Farming quests to get boosts such in vanilla was tedius but acceptable because it was required to augment yourself for very late game

Dailies works when you can see a goal, but once they make you do it for some kind of arbitrary reward the whole point pretty much falls apart. Like the grind for the netherdrake mounts, which is a nice side distraction with a clear end goal in site.

I'll tell you something, if these bother you, don't ever bother switching from Exalted with Scryers/Aldor to the other. You'll farm so many spider parts you'll know every leaf around the edge of Auchidon's destroyed land. Back and forth between two strips of land to get your sacs I think it was ... thousands. Still wasn't hard, but farming an hour or two here and there for months and months; never many on the AH; figure most people vend the items lol most of these that are 'annoying' were meant to be done during the 2 years of the xpac; so up to 700+ days to complete before the next xpac ... so things that need 60 days or lots of rng for resets weren't a real problem unless you had no patience at all and needed them done yesterday ... like pebble; you would be doing therazane rep anyway for the stuff like shoulder enchants the vendor had behind rep levels. So the 2 do 10x pebble escort and killing the trogg would happen easily in the first month or two of playing; it only feels tedious to you newer players because you want to get the stuff done afap instead of a slow burn to completion as part of your farming routes (I assume people worried about achievements like this most likely farm mounts, etc and maybe efficiency is getting ahead of fun if this negative attitude is starting to prevail in their mind). I'd personally re-title this video to things that take time because of rotating quest availability.

i have an idea for a top 10 list for you hiru "top 10 most overpowered non-trinket gear pices" and you can even include certain legendaries on this list (but try to not overdo it) and i even have a perfect item for you... "the instructor's fourth lesson" and it was a bracer legendary item from legion. for unholy dks.. now what it did originally was basically give you chance to have a free unnerfed apocalypse in pvp damagewise as it would burst 1-5 festering wounds AT ONCE... with another talent castigator where if you managed to get a crit you would burst an additional festering wound on top of the 1-5 extra and bursting sores was also ridiculously overpowered in buffing festering wound damage and would basically randomly send a guy to the death realm instantly... it was then nerfed to only burst 1-3 festering wounds would be bursted AND THEN THAT was reduced to 1-2 additional festering wounds... they REALLY nerfed this legendary into the ground throughout the entire expansion and it was by far the best in slot legendary you could get in legion for a while, which is why they nerfed it repeatedly... if you had sufficient crit chance to take adavantage of castigator and also had bursting sores +this legendary at the start of legion you would have a WAAAAY bigger chance of basically DELETING somebody... it was THAT OP on launch

The Voltron reference achievement in BFA... Granted, I stopped going back but I could never get the bronze cat to spawn. It's a world quest but those are basically dailies. Damn wq is up only like once a week and there are 5 cats, only one of which animates and fights. Also, I swear some have lower spawn rates cause I've liked so many red ones, but only one yellow one. Oh and course I've still not killed the bronze one...
