From someone who has a lot of interest in video game speed running in general. You've done a massive service to future runners with your commentary. Having a starting point speedrun video for a creators audience to launch off of has traditionally pushed speedrunning forward

I’m the exact opposite, I picked up what some grips do and what most look like lol. But since I introduced my friend to Joltz we’ve been doing a lot of the cool strats and time skips to make runs easier, we tried to get levels easy while playing the Tina DLC but it didn’t quite work with four Kriegs so instead we made it to flame rock and revived each other until lvl 7 because one of the Krieg buds doesn’t have the Lilith DLC yet.

4:40, as a game dev in UE4, I have a theory about that out of bounds mailbox. It could be that they had prebuilt clusters of assets that they could drag in, and one of them was that wall/gate thing and it just had a mailbox as part of it

I'm a 'casual' gamer, in that I'll blunder my way through to the end of a game, and generally, once played, forgotten. I've only just picked up BL3, and after about a week, got myself up to lvl 22. I love stealth games, so this is quite a departure. In my n00bness, I turn to YT to help me out in difficult situations... and I come across something like this. When you've played as much as I have, and realise how fkn difficult it is, my jaw drops at the expertise of guys like this. The sheer amount of knowledge of what is a complicated game, to achieve a run like this is mind boggling. Falling in love with the game, but think I'll be looking at vids like these, rather than trying to emulate them. Taking this in small doses btw... the action combined with the commentary is making my head spin :D

Honestly, between the mods and the segmented nature of this run, I wonder if it could be called an pseudo Low Optimization Tool Assisted Demonstration, also known as a Lotad. Hope you did take / are taking a good break after creating this monster of a run. Seriously, some skips make softlocks after all, so take it easy.

OHHH MY GOD!!! Me and my friend decided to play this game again last month and we were both Zane. We accepted all the quests but only we’re doing to main story, so that bounty hunting voiceline played twice anytime we loaded anywhere. It slowly drove us to madness. One time I called my bud and asked him when he last did a spot of bounty hunting he screamed: better get back in the game! And hung up. Thank you joltz for the important revelation. We can finally not get back in the game 😂

Nice run and nice content as always, grats on 600K! While I think skips are legit, the mods to get guaranteed legendaries are kinda cheesy IMO, and the whole idea of segmented feels weird considering the point of a speedrun originally was to see how quickly a game could be finished in practice. Segmenting + the mods almost makes it a sim instead of a an actual human run, but it was still pretty fun to watch and you're by far the most insightful BL player out there!

Hi jolts, i don't know if you know this, but you can one shot "katagawa jr" using zane sentinel, now I don't really know what perks or passive to use for the sentinel but, i guess it's one that weaken the enemies and it's instantly kill the boss and skip the invincible phase, and also i found this a long ago but I'm getting break from the game so your video of speedrunning BL3 pop-up on my home and made me remember this trick, i hope it's help if you haven't know already, so yeah I love your BL3 videos, I'm a new player of Borderlands franchise and i start playing from BL2 but i spend more time playing BL3 so yeah i hope you keep making more videos about BLs and hopefully BL4 will be better and acceptable by the community than wonderlands not only for the community but also the developer so they will continue making this type of game

Finished my first playthrough of bl3 yesterday so can finally watch this without worrying about spoilers. Tbh I loved all borderlands so far and even 3, look forward to its dlcs and end game. Atm im going through TVHM with mayhem 1. The story I enjoyed but I can see why replayability vs 2 isn't as great. There is a lot of waiting with triggers etc. Hope your hand recovers well!
