Daniel and Houston , Just a suggestion from my experience from trapping . On your Bobcat and coyote sets ,when you set close to a tree line such as you did with the feathers , take a few fluffy feathers and tie them to a string . (6-8 lb fishing line is what i have used ) and then take the other end with about a 2 feet of length between and tie it off to a limb above the trap so it can blow around . It attracts bobcats more than coyotes but it will work on both . Give it a try and may help you guys .Love seeing your videos and you being a great conservationist and teaching your kids how to survive if needed and help the populations of all the critters you guys hunt and trap . Love seeing Houston learning different things. Was so proud when he got his first duck the other day. Here we have such an issues with the amount of Canadian geese that they have started spraying the eggs so they will not hatch. I am in southern Ontario

Houston, I’m so very proud of you!! Your dad is teaching you some very important skills. I know not everyone is a big fan of the trapping videos but getting the wildlife under control is so important. Then watching you drive the side by side!!! I live in Ohio and while driving the other day I saw a small coyote running through a field, it had a chicken in its mouth. So by what you’re doing is helping save farm animals. Way to go Daniel! I have never trapped before, but I find trapping very interesting. Your videos on trapping are, too me, extremely interesting. Your first haul seemed to take awhile, but I'm sure the learning curve is not instantaneous! But seemed like after a few days your haul was pretty good. Congratulations, Houston. I remember a man who lived just west of the town I grew up in when I was about your age. He hunted wolf. He was a friend of my Daddy and stopped by our house one night on his way home from a hunt and had 13 of the big white timber wolves on him truck. Sometimes, he would fly his plane a spot, the wolf, and had guys on the ground he would talk to on a radio and tell them where they were. He used gray hounds on the ground. THANKS DANIAL & HUSTON on the trapping deal....Back in the 1950's i used to have a trapping line.....l would run my trap ling at about 50:30 AM to see if i caught anything.....l had about 50 traps to check and then go to school.....When i came home from school at 3:30 in the afternoon and check my trap all over again...Thanks from a Old F-4 Shoe🇺🇸

That’s pretty good that Houston’s taking up the trapping I know the first trade isn’t very big right now, but just the same cleaning up the predators and sending them off off to be tanned is nice. I do that with my deer hides, but then again, I make my own regalia, but the outdoors I’m Narragansett and Wampanoag with Italian throne in sonata very good mix, but make my own moccasins and beadwork that’s all that matters. It’s a fun craft to have besides knowing how to take out the predators and re-purpose. The remains is a very good knowledge to have because there are people out there that watch the first.❤❤❤❤

I have probably 20 plus videos from different channels I watch including ole Lester but the only ones I have taken the time to watch is yours. I will eventually watch the others but if I see one from you I stop what I am doing to watch it. I think there are many reasons why. First off there is nothing better than a father spending time in the woods teaching his son all about life. Secondly watching Houston and the excitement he gets from doing it is just a testament to how he is raised. Mom and dad should be very proud of him. Thirdly I think it helps me to live through you both because I didn’t get to spend quality time with my father growing up but if I had I wish it would have been similar to you two. Last but in no way the least I enjoy the video content and the way of life. I could live in the small little cabin on Mill Creek and be very content. Simple is beautiful in my book. Thanks for not only sharing the videos but also your lives with us. Congratulations to Houston and the video guy on the coyote and raccoons. Awesome job guys. Look forward to the next chapter in this series.

I use walnut hulls to boil my traps if I don't have Logwood Crystal Dye. I bet that was a Fox that dug your trap out .

Good job Houston!!! I wished you lived in Minnesota close to me. My farmland is right next to a wildlife area. Which at one time had turkeys, Pheasants, geese, ducks and deer. Now there are just a few deer. I did have some chickens and ducks, but they are now gone. They were killed or disappeared during the day when I was gone. I do hear the coyotes sometimes on the south end of my farm. There is a drainage ditch on that end, and I was told they have a den there. But last winter, I did see a coyote up on my yard. During the summer, I have heard them close by my yard. Keep up the good hunting Daniel and Houton.

Nice to see another generation trapping As for the geese Goose nesting platforms are easy to build and provide good protection At the marsh I am a member of , we have about 60 nesting platforms Not all are used every year , maybe 1/2 or a little better We use the poly barrels , cutting off each end about 12" high Lots of online plans

I’ve seen firsthand what coyotes, foxes and bobcats can do to turkeys, quail and rabbits. A once abundant habitat was destroyed because the owners son wouldn’t control predators. It was very sad because they didn’t have hardly any wildlife on their property anymore. You are teaching Houston the importance of being a good steward of the property and the different methods necessary to protect the wildlife on it. Well done Daniel. Love this channel 👏👍😎🤠🥰

I grew up on a cattle ranch in VERY rural North Texas and coyotes was so bad people was killing them as much as possible. They decreased but they come back pretty quickly you will not stop them but it is good to allow the prey they have to have a chance.

We used to hunt wood ducks on our creek when I was younger and those wood ducks will just fly down the creek a little bit so you can walk down a little ways and find them again and maybe get a shot. Just a tip 🇺🇸
