My mom was a part of a quartet for years at our church. What a beautiful voice that lady had. When genes were being handed down I definitely missed that one lol. She used to sing "I can only imagine" by Mercy Me it was her favorite song and her choir leader at church sang it at her funeral during which time I believe they said the head count was 127 people most of them teenagers came to the alter to pray and every single one of them got saved at my moms funeral after our preacher preached like it was a sunday morning service and Brother Rich started singing and the energy in the church did a 180 and all of a sudden a rush of people come down to the front with their hands raised their voices raised higher and you could just feel the shift that hearts were being touched, the lost were being found, it all of a sudden didn't even feel like a funeral any more it was more of a backwoods, foot stomping, Glory to God Revival in that place. Not a dry eye in the place we were in an autotorium that would seat 600 people and we were standing room only no floor room, and spilled out. There were so many people there they had to turn the TVs on in the fellowship hall in the basement for people that couldn't squeeze into the autotorium could watch the whole thing on a monitor. The youth Pastor said people were hitting their knees like you wouldn't belive down there and coming to the front podium to ask to be saved. Y'all my Mama was a Saint if you ask me but nobody ever asks me so if it took my Mama, just 1 person to go home to Glory to save that many lost souls it was worth it. If her passing only saved 1 person it still would've been a great day. I to this day have not listened to that song since that day 3 March 2004. I can't it's the one thing from that day I'm not ready to face yet but it was such l an amazing day!I i bring this up because i can hear her voice every time I listen to this song. Above the music and the voices singing, sometimes accapella just tune out evrything and can just listen to her sweet voice the funny thing about it is she's been gone 19 years so I never heard her sing this song but I can hear her sing it clear as day. Such a bittersweet moment for me. I have to agree with you oh I can't wait to get to Heaven to stand next to my mother and sing this song at the Lord's feet. Those who reject the free gift of salvation, see John 3:16 above, "perish", which means their sins are judged by God the Son and they suffer eternal separation from God and the family of God forever called the "second death".
