Pay attention to Magnus' king safety. His king is on opposite color square as Black's bishop. Whereas Black's king is on the same color square. This means Black has one less piece to threaten his king. I'm convinced Magnus' prowess ultimately comes from his mastery of King safety!

Bishop pair are just too strong in the open position, and Wesley rook is more open and becomes the target magnus used it to gain more tempo..

There really isn't anyone who pushes Magnus. He toys with his opponent, then rises to whatever level is necessary to win. He's bored with most of his challengers. The fact that he didn't defend his title is proof of just how relatively weak he considers his competition.

My goodness chess has really lost something when they can't find a way of accommodating the GOAT in the world championships ... is nobody asking Magnus "What format would make you come back to classical ?" maybe have a world championship with the top 4 players playing 12 games ... 2 B 2 W against each adversary ? that would be cool format and not have the same 2 bashing heads every day ?
