I bought the Gordon a year or so ago. I've practiced with it for fire making, feathersticking, splitting, and did some deer skining. When sharp it works just great. Hand filling grip(i have x-large glove - hands). I use the smiths precision sharpening system on all my knives. I can't think of a better deal for the price.

We love to hear this! Nothing like an honest opinion based off of actual experience! We love this! Thank you for watching!

Ghostface from Scream used the Buck 120, not the 119. The confusion often comes from the fact that the 120 was out of production at the time of the movie's production.

That is not unexpected. Longer blade looks better. Awesome thanks for watching

Beautifully designed knives ! ⚠️ For Survival use I recommend the Buck 119 knife version made with the D2 steel blade because of it's strength.

I would never disagree with that. Thanks for the comment I appreciate your insight and support!

...I owned a couple, way back...stainless steel...good luck getting them sharp....good for the tackle box, I guess....

Do you know of a steel you prefer? I have hundreds of knives I don’t know any made of not stainless steel. Thanks for stopping in, which knife did you have? The Gordon or the Buck? Buck has a no hassle guarantee. If you ever need it sharpened send it in. They have two different styles to choose from. I would suggest the 2000

@@HisDadsBarI had a folder 110 and one I believe was called "The General"...early 1980's. Quality items. But that darn steel...no Diamond Pacific wheels back in those days...

If you can't get 7cr17 sharp, that's a you problem. It's extremely easy to sharpen. Hell, it's sharpenability is probably it's _best_ trait! Over the last couple days, I sharpened 7cr17, 15V, k390, s90v and s125v. All hair whittling sharp. Edit: It's been about 20 years since I've seen someone (seriously) go the "stainless steels don't get sharp" route. Thanks for the laugh.

Great comparison! Despite being a knife fan, I'm not very outdoorsy, so these knives don't make a lot of sense for me. If I'm in the woods I can usually get by with some of my more intense pocket knives or my dad's old machete. That said, because of the price, I may have to pick up the Gordon, just so I can say I have one!
@HisDadsBar5 ай бұрын
That is awesome! I don’t use knives often and I understand the contradiction there , me making videos about them but i do love a good knife. These are both great knives. The Gordon is a pound for pound awesome knife. If you ever get the chance to own a Buck don’t pass up the opportunity. Thank you for your support we appreciate you so much!

@@HisDadsBar I do own a Buck 112, it's a smaller version of the 110. It's nice and sharp and really holds an edge. Definitely a two handed deployment though, and no pocket clip, so I don't carry it often. I've had it for years and think I'll give it to my great-nephew when he turns 18.

Well you got the knife for free I'd rather I wouldn't see myself paying $80 for a knife that the other knife can do the same thing for a quarter of the price you just want to work a night out in the farm

The blades are actually pretty similar when you lay them side by side. The quality will lean to Buck when you consider the warranty and such. Thanks for watching Danny. Have a great day my friend.

@HisDadsBar9 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching. The Gordon line at HF seems to do their homework. Not bad stuff for the price.
@LXT438 ай бұрын
No, it's not. It's worth maybe $5. The leather is very thin and soft. Not all leather sheaths are created equal. Some are just pieces of crap. Buck's sheath is actually very decent and worth $20.
@ChrisvilleUSA8 ай бұрын
@LXT43 I agree the buck sheath is great. I respect your opinion, but do you know where I can get sheaths equal to the Gordon quality for $5. I agree it's not a buck, but the sheaths that are in that category ,"cheap," are usually a lot crappier than the Gordon.
@ekimskaew53048 ай бұрын
I like them both. I like Buck. No slaves involved in their production. Who knows what prison the Gordon came from. I have no complaints whatsoever with the Gordon I own, except Communist China forced labor that made it.
