Hi Chris. Thanks for another great video. I switched from muck boots to dry shod boots. I wasn’t get very good life out of muck boots anymore. I went to an Amish/Mennonite store where I buy most of my boots from. I talked with them and they recommended the dry shod brand. I got a pair and I love them. Over a year in and they are still working great. I did a little research on them. The guy that started the muck boot brand sold the company. He then started dry shod. Anyway have a good one and good night Irene!

Chris, to help with the stiffness, lace straight up from the last eyelet to the first speed hook without crossing. That gives the ankle room to flex. I lace all of my boots in this manner and I at makes it much more comfortable.

I had some cheap china boots from walmart, i got soaked with a water tote filler, 4" pipe. Soaked. The boots smelled like cat piss the next day. Wahsed them twice in the washer, ran air through them to dry thoroughly, powdered them, sprayed them, left them in the sun. Nothing, permanent cat piss smell. I looked it up, and apparently some cheap shoes have chemicals in them that can't get wet? If they get wet they decompose and break down into ammonia or something. They WERE like ten years old though. Maybe they had already decomposed by then and getting wet was the last straw lol

Oh and let’s do hoodies, tee shirts and hat commercials too. To me they’ve become nothing but pigs at the trough
@thomassellon19772 жыл бұрын
I agree completely about the Morgan’s. I have never commented publically because I really don’t have any grudges and I think they are basically nice people. They also are doing firewood as a hobby, they must have 250k worth of new equipment sitting around. Good luck paying off a loan for that much plus feeding your family on the firewood he is selling. I also wasn’t learning many how to tips. Want to move some dirt and logs around? Go get a $75,000 track loader! What a cool idea! Thanks, Mike! This is turning into a rant. Watch “In the Woodyard” and “Ohio Wood Burner” for good advice, watch anything else for entertainment if you find them entertaining. Actually Chris, Ken, and Tony are actually the most entertaining ones out there IMO. Rant over!

For me, the wedge sole (the white bottom ones) can be annoying. They are firmer than sneakers, so if I step on a round/cylindrical bit of debris, I roll on it and nearly fall. Regular heels, I may only roll an inch or so, before the debris is in the gap between the heel and the front of the sole. They are nice if you need support and are working on an indoor project/construction where you don't wan to track any mud in.

Chris, my first time leaving two comments. I have read all the whining about you selling out and I want to address these people with too much time on their hands. First of all, KZbin is free, you watch for free and you are free to leave any time. I have done this myself, other topics, other channels. I personally like this channel a lot. If you don’t, I respect your opinion. Secondly, apparently no one has noticed, Chris Carlson has been shouting the praises of Huskvarna chain saws and Eastonmade log splitters from the rooftops for 700 episodes and there has been no bitching. I am a Stihl fan, but I live seven houses away from the dealer whom I have known for 35 years. Thus I will never say a bad word about Husky , both are good saws. Of all the different people producing firewood by an infinite number of methods, I bet none of them are doing it barefoot! Let Chris do his boot review. I know for sure if the boots disintegrate in three weeks he will let us know! Keep on Keepin On Chris, don’t let the whining sissy bitches get you down!

Very nice video. The composite toe on the muck boots will be either be made out of Kevlar, Carbon Fiber, Plastic or Fiberglass. The composite will provide protection, but not as much as steel. Composite will be cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. The design came about for trades that do not have high impact probabilities. An added do dad for your leather shoes would be a lace in metatarsal protector. This protects the area under the laces. The spot where you drop a log and you say "that is going to leave a mark." The second thing that will increase longevity is a product that is applied to the exterior of the toe box. This can be a paint on product or a cement on Huard.
@annmariekowalski75052 жыл бұрын
Sorry, cement on guard. Amazon has both. The guard is to increase the life of the leather above the steel toe. Trades where the worker is crawling will wear out the toe cap before the shoe is destroyed. I am a retired cobbler.

Don't worry I will still do a lot of firewood carnage, a video every day is a huge job and if I am thrown a soft ball I will hit it.

Hey Chris just think if everyone starts buying their firewood from China?
@InTheWoodyard2 жыл бұрын
I believe in the open FREE market for everyone, people who will only buy local do not have much of a choice on variety, price or speed of delivery. If a local maker can provide a better lower cost item with fast delivery, I'm all in. 99% of electronics are made in Asia, so if you use them, that is the place.

@@InTheWoodyard I understand your position. I often will not buy anything when I shop because I am fighting so hard to buy USA or Canadian products. My frustration with China is that they have become the belligerent world power because we buy from them. If we stop buying from China there economy and aggression would collapse.

Agreed that you're paying for the name. I have a pair of Chinese Walmart specials that have outlasted a pair of Chippewa loggers. The loggers cost me $200+ 👎👎

That is good and to bad at the same time, I will pay more for good stuff IF it lasts.
