@@PTNLemay If you live in a humid environment you will need to drain the unit daily. I use mine on cool and dehumidify mode and it will fill up a five gallon bucket in twelve hours. I recently had to replace the unit because the install guy didn’t hook up the hose and my unit got rusted and large mold spores started to form on the fan blades. Just a heads up because these things are not cheep! btw the guy told me the same thing about it not needing a drain because of evaporation it’s total non sense just a selling trick

After returning the two Hisense, I've bought two others that works great. We already had a Gree that was older than the Hisense. It's still going strong and is a work horse. To replace the two hisense we bought two window box LG's and the too work phenomenally. This has been a super humid year. It's rained most of the summer in 80-90 heat and never once have we had to drain any of them. We moved from the high desert (no humidity). The hisense were used in the high desert and had to be drained ever hour and ahalf or so. Biggest pieces of trash. We still don't know how to dispose of them.

Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I kzbin.infoUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!

I kinda wish the entire tank were just removable so I could take it out, drain it, and put it back in without having to jump through the hoops of unplugging and finding a container to drain it into, especially since the drain port is so low to the ground that any container low enough to work is not going to hold much anyway.

Our unit showed E5 last night for the first time in 2 years, it'd been working perfectly and didn't need draining. We drained it just before the water reached our plugged chargers, which would've been very dangerous! The unit didn't display the error after draining, but it seems like it's running very "forced" now. The bottom part feels extremely hot to the touch as well and heat is emanating from it, I'm very concerned now. What could be the issue here? And can we still run it? we'd been using most of the day & night this summer. It's been very hot and some days, quite humid too, but it'd been just fine until last night. The heat wave is still going in CA, we need it.

Hi, 1)All of Hisense Portable AC are designed to be 'waterless' in COOLING MODE, and won't require draining under normal usage conditions. In COOLING MODE, condensed water will be evaporated outside though the air exhaust hose . 2) If the environment humidity is extremely high, the water container goes full, the screen will display E5. After draining the water, the unit can work again. 3) The upper drain port can be used to drain water continuously (attach a extra hose to the upper drain port) in DRY MODE.

My Hisense that we had for about 6 years we always had to drain the water almost every day or two or we got the error code, is very annoying. Also that baking tray water draining thing is a total joke. You try and balance a baking tray full of water without making a mess it's impossible. I had to put mine on top pf bricks to raise it up a bit and then I used a cake baking pan and made it much easier since that had more depth to it. Not sure why they can not exhaust the water out the window like they boost, but just so you know you might have to be draining yours all the time.

@@servicehisense-usa4763 Did you read my question? When using the Hysense as a heater, can you hook up a hose to the drain so you dont have to manually empty the water reservoir? If yes, what diameter hose is needed? Hysense should seriously consider including a drain hose with the unit to make it user friendly. I would rather use a $15 Walmart heater than have to manually drain the Hysense every 3 days.

Glad to read what a struggle the heater is. We never had issues in the summer with needing to drain. May just go buy a space heater like the one we have in our room. The heater in our living room is loud and terrifies our son. Plus it does not work too good and sounds like its gunna explode when it shuts off. Was hoping we could use this instead...if I am goingto needing to drain it too often it just seems annoying. I'll add we did not buy this. The owners had the swamp coolers (that didn't work) removed and replaced them with this portable AC. That happens to have a heater.

Hi, you are right. In cooling use, All of Hisense Portable AC are designed to be 'waterless', and won't require draining under normal usage conditions. Condensed water will be evaporated outside though the air exhaust hose. If the environment humidity is extremely high, the water container goes full, the screen will display E5. After draining the water, the unit will work again. Suggest you drain the water out manually one time refer to the video.
