Her inspiration for this song comes from within. Billie was depressed for several years and contemplated suicide while at her lowest point. She is in a much better headspace now and has said she is “happy for the first time in years” Coming from someone who has struggled with depression & anxiety for 10 years, I really really hope she is able to stay in that positive & happy place. Great reaction btw!! 💚

Thanks for the reaction man! And i 100% agree with you regarding Billie's and Finneas's music. It's rather "minimalistic" yet incredibly fresh which is what makes it so unique. Even her music videos (with a few exceptions) are rather simplistic in both directing and concept YET well thought out/creative and beautifully shot. They have also said that they wont make a song ever that doesn't sound good in an acoustic version. Which i think is a dope approach Another performance of hers from the same concert that i loved was "Come Out and Play" , it would make for a dope reaction as well

she was 16. this song was written after she was sitting in a hotel room and felt like jumping out of the window and committing suicide. she stopped and cried because she thought of her mom.
