Hi Professor! In my script (or even in the WHO classification) it says that there are 5 histological types of gastroCa: adeno (>90%), adenosquamous (around 5%), squamous, undifferentiated and small cell. I get undifferentiated and obviously adeno, but how can a gastric ca be squamous? Are these metastasis exclusively? Thank you!

My guess would be either from squamous metaplasia, or lower esophagus.

My father has been suffering from ulcer since 1965 and he made two operations but lately he felt so bad when his urine started to be red and sometimes black so we rushed to the hospital and the doctor diagnosis him with Adenocarcinoma after he made tissue analysis and it is located in his stomach to be precise in upper side . The doctor adviced him to cut off all his stomach . Do you think he should cut off all his stomach ? Is this kind of cancer is fatal ?

My feeling would be......YES, because FIBROSIS is a reaction to the tumor cells, and also it it what radiation therapy induces.
