Ok, I'll break it down for you No scandal = the scandal must have bipartisan recognition, which means some DEMOCRATS would have to acknowledge a scandal. Scandals also have to implicate the President directly in corruption. There is no such scandal under Biden. No social unrest = must be sustained social unrest to the point that the stability of society is brought into question. All we've had is a few protesters on college campuses and at the DNC. Nowhere close to the Vietnam War protests or BLM protesters in 2020. No challenger charisma = This is a very high bar, the candidate must have broad bipartisan appeal. Trump is a showman, but he only appeals to a narrow base of supporters. You have to apply his method accurately, and not based on your subjective feelings.

I hope Lichtmann is right in his prediction. That said, I don’t think his method is very solid. He makes too many simplistic assumptions. For instance, on the question of Third Party. He is assuming that because RFK Jr has dropped out he will no longer influence the result. He might influence the result more. Him joining forces with Trump allows Trump to present himself as more of a unifier and gives the possibility of injecting some new themes into the Trump campaign. It has made RFK more relevant. Lichtmann pretends to ignore polls. How then does he decide if a candidate is charismatic? As far as I can tell that key is decided by ability to reach across the aisle and draw electors from the other side, but surely he is measuring that through polling data. Lichtmann gives equal weight to the economy and foreign affairs but they aren’t equal. Lichtmann takes no account of changing demographics or changing campaigning techniques- use of new media, etc.
