Love the scenes with Cromwell and Mary especially when Mary breaks down. Also, the scenes with Cromwell and Margaret Douglas

I love the scene during Cromwell’s interrogation when he suddenly yells at Rich - ‘look at me’ ! I actually jumped out of my skin

"you do not surprise me any more Cromwell, and I do not think you will again" ouch. Henry knows how to wound.

I loved any scene with Mary (Tudor). Romola Garai will always be my favorite Mary, but Lilit Lesser is a close second.

I'm not sure about a 1-10 ranking, but my number 1 would be the whole sequence / montage leading up to the moment of execution. It was so incredibly powerful. Some of the individual moments it was made up of. Such as when Kingston said that that was as far as he could accompany Cromwell (to the exterior doorway). When Cromwell exited the doorway, to be so instantly, firmly and irresistibly boxed in by 4 men, for his walk to the scaffold. I hope my recollections are accurate - I haven't yet rewatched it. I found it quite overwhelming, and it literally haunted my dreams, all through my following night's sleep.

True. But it also bugged me so much. He wasn’t a victim. In the sense of what he did to others and how he changed the system for his own benefit.

@ElleHistory oh, absolutely. But as a powerful piece of *drama*... It transcended.

Agree that these scenes are all quite entertaining! Especially the one where Jane discusses her and Henry's sex life with Cromwell!!

The scenes were kept so small they had little impact. I'll have to watch the series to judge.

Yeah BBC won’t let me put more than it needs to be to be able to review.

No more such mercy, mercy mercy times. It is just right and good. Nobody has to beg for mercy nowadays, for God’s sake

Yah, I give Cromwell no mercy, mercy, mercy. Did Anne's letter, if she did indeed write one, make it to Henry's ear? No, Cromwell wouldn't have allowed that. He didn't even have the decency to place ladies Anne could trust not to spy on her in the Tower. He received more justice than he gave an anointed and innocent queen of England.

True! I am descended from Mary Boleyn and what Cromwell and Henry did to the Boleyns is nothing short of evil!

Cromwell was ordered directly by H8 to get rid of Anne Boleyn. Perhaps watch Season 1 again to confirm how and why Cromwell did what he did - and not independently
