8:12 To be fair Mt Everest is one of the safest mountains in above 6k range to climb because of just how damn popular it is and how accessible past expeditions have left it. Try an climb any other mountain above 6k range ad those would be absolutely more lethal.

Unfortunately, on the topic of ascending Mt. Everest, it has become such a popular mountain climbing venue that there is a garbage problem at the summit. The highest peak in the world, scraping space itself, has the same problem as Detroit or New York City. And what is more unfortunate is that climbers oftentimes calculate in the cost of the penalty for not returning with their trash, so it has just exponentially proliferated up there.

The plane crashes are not that common but there were some during the 90's and 2000's I was there during that 2015 earthquake, one of the most harrowing experience ever!! I would direct you to a video regarding the Royal massacre but unfortunately there aren't any good ones. To simply put, a very popular king and his whole family(most) were killed in a very suspicious manner inside their own palace in 2001. The incident is still very sketchy and remains kinda unsolved. The leading theory goes that the eldest son(in line to the throne), gunned down every member one by one after a dinner banquet and then subsequently shot himself. Other speculations like assassination from the communist resistant group involved in the civil war, China or India intervention, Army shenanigans are also very popular It's really weird, the whole communist situation. I haven't been to Nepal for over 5 years now so don't know the current situation but we're definitely NOT a proper communist nation, that's for sure

With the Royal Massacre, Crown Prince Dipendra killed 10 members of his family and injured 5 others at a during a party at the Royal Palace, before turning one of the guns on himself. He survived the gunshot to the head for 3 days before dying at the hospital while in a comatose state. He became King because he wiped out most of the line of succession. There are many theories about why Dipendra did it. Some say that it was because he wanted to marry a girl that he met in the UK, but his family wouldn’t allow it because she was from a different caste.
