Historic COLD & HUGE Snowstorms Coming?

During wintertime, cooler patterns can favor significant winter storms to the Midwest and Northeast. It's just when and where (timing and track the storms), the amounts, and how cold it will be for it to be a direct hit.

Some of these model runs are like never seen before, at least for me personally. This kind of pattern could mean the South gets more snow than Wisconsin for example, if things line up right. Nice update, Merry late Christmas and happy new year in advance

It's all a big puzzle. There's currently not much of a snowpack across a large chunk of the Midwest, Ohio Valley or Mid-Atlantic. I don't quite buy into the historic cold temperatures and wind chills just yet due to the lack of snowpack in those areas. In these types of patterns, there's a ton of energy flying around all over the place, so for energy to come together just right for a big East Coast snowstorm is below-average, but still possible. The Polar Vortex will bring bitterly cold temperatures to parts of the United States. The center of the Polar Vortex will not reach Florida, no.

"Potential" Storms are always worth mentioning, but the Cold sounds imminent. Thousands of Ice Fisher.....people🙄 are interested in this - for sure. But.....then again; it doesnt seem like itll stick around...for too long? All these Ups n Downs are....not so good, overall.

The cold weather should have staying power through at least mid-January, possibly into the 3rd week of January. But a warming trend is expected after this cold air departs.

Lmao anything beyond 5 to 7 days is worthless. I’ve seen many times these patterns well in advance and end up being nothing like it was supposed to be.

There are scenarios where storms beyond 5 to 7 days out has more confidence than a storm within the 5 to 7 day range. That’s happened several times before. But yes, we don’t know where the snowstorms will track or how much snow they will bring just yet, and just how many snowstorms there will be.

It'll be difficult to get snow that far south into Texas. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it will be difficult given the lack of snowpack in the Midwest and Ohio Valley. Meaning the cold air may not be nearly as cold as some of the models are showing this far out. I'll keep you updated.
