Newmarket is a town rich in history. You can start learning about its past by visiting the Elman W. Campbell Museum seen in the video. After your visit, take a ten minute stroll down the hill to Main Street. See if you can spot some of the heritage plaques on buildings of historical and architectural interest. Centrally located right in the middle of Newmarket the historic downtown neighbourhood features a storybook Main Street shopping area lined with heritage buildings highlighted by the landmark Old Town Hall which is now a cultural hub for the community. The Post Office building and the Elman W Campbell Museum are other prominent historic landmarks. Newmarket’s Riverwalk Commons is a focal point of the neighbourhood featuring an indoor community centre and outdoor common area that is the venue for many popular neighbourhood events.

It used to be busy street, but now there are many closed, empty stores for lease and sale unfortunately, and of course with everything that going on - it is very quiet

you really missed a few hot spots! The tombstone place (Lusbey). I used to pass this place every day on my way to the high school. Also you flew right by the hotel where William Lyon Mackenzie gave a speech to insight a Rebellion! But thank you for the memories. Despite what I have seen from. the rest of the town, Main Street, thankfully has not changed in over 40 years! Oh, and you just panned by the convenience store where Getty Lee's mom worked. I wonder if the faded Rush poster is still in the window?

Living in Bangkok for 15 years, I would have never guessed home (Holland Landing/Newmarket) would be the same. It's as if a day hasn't gone by expect it looks as if there are just new restaurants. But ya, many more empty shops as someone mentioned. Too bad.

It depends what you prefer. Toronto is busy and noisy, Newmarket is quieter and relaxing and a bit cheaper to live in
