Historic Flood Ruins My Fishing Plans

Hey everyone, in todays video we head down to the marina to do a little dock fishing. Come to my surprise the river is super flooded and the water was the color of chocolate milk. As you can see in the few comparison clips the water is up so much it doesn't even look like the same place. I had to make a change of plans and get after some fish but I hope you enjoy the adjustment and the fish we managed to catch.

When water get that mirk.. Let em smell the bait. Try cat fishing at dusk and into the evening. Chicken livers on a treble barb hook will bring em in. Chunk it deep water on the CT river, and wait. May also catch a mudpuppy (giant salamander 1 to 2 feet long). Use caution with water. A lot of sewer water overflows into CT river up north here in northern Mass, VT and NH.

2-4 inches of visibility is what I'm used to fishing in, that's every day normal. Stick your finger in the water and you can't see the tip. I throw normal stuff in it. Spinnerbaits, inline spinners, cranks, drop shot, Texas rig, it all works in dirty water if the fish are used to the water being like that.

I'm 6 hours from you in ny on st.lawrence river.lolol...try a chaser bait. It makes lots of noise in dirty water...at least your moving closer. Lol..I took college in Hartford ct.

@@BrockOutdoors I’d probably try flash , but not a really into pan fish / bass fishing all though there’s plenty around me . I mostly fish walleye, salmon, and trout. I live 3 miles from Lake Huron. Not to say I don’t enjoy fishing them there’s nothing like hooking into a huge bass .
