In 2007, when I was rebuilding my MEL 462, Egge was the only vendor that stocked a step design pistons very close to OEM design. All other vendors offered flat-top pistons that will result in more than just CR loss, it will defeat the original design of the actual combustion chamber. To have this engine type function as designed and properly, the original piston dome design (or slight variant) must be retained. More info: thelincolnforum (dot) net, topic # 36860
